Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

Don't bet on Moyesie going to Man Utd.

There is a lot of water to go under the bridge before that happens.

Yip.

You'd think after the day long feeding frenzy in the meejah, there would have been an announcement already.

If one was forthcoming...:(

If Gotze can play in a Champions League final against the team he's about to join i see no reason why our manager cant manage us until the Summer.

In London tonight with his agent brother allegedly to watch the cheski game or hand his resignation in to BK -It has been announced that the new Manager of Man U will be with them tomorrow - it may be all hype , but nothing surprises me I feel even BK knew this was happening months ago!

No, we haven't.

Don't believe the revisionists.

We came close to relegation twice.....in '94 and '98.

Maybe flirted with the lower regions another couple times but were well safe with a half dozen games to go.

And in Moyes's first full season in charge we finished one place above the relegation zone....on thirty nine points.

A total which would get a club relegated most years.

So let's not go over the top here, potato.

Everton under Moyes were no better than they ought to be.

You're a young lad....embrace the future and view the impending arrival of a new manager with optimism and excitement.

Because we are in danger of seeing the legacy of the Moyes era being one of down in the mouth negativity and defeatism.

Moyes has never built up expectation....never engendered great hope.....never talked up our great and proud club and its magnificane fans.

This man sent his team out at Man. City last season with a statement to the press that he was "bringing a knife to a gunfight".

He should have been sacked that night, IMO.

He did that pretty much every time he could.

Just for the record we finished 7th in his first full season. It's difficult for us to embrace the future considering we grew up in the 90s and know how bad things were before Moyes arrived. If you genuinely think we can do better under a new manager then you must be expecting a Mourinho type figure to take over.

May as well if it's just speculation and he isn't announced as United manager until possibly after the season finishes.

If it's announced that he's going to United then I'm not sure. Probably not.

They have to announce a new manager within 48 hrs as per stock market rules now that there a floating company!

I was going to make a comment, but instead I'm just not going to open this thread anymore. Some complete spanners coming out of the woodwork in here.

If he goes he should be no where near our ground. It would just show how far little old Everyon have fell.

He'll get his ovation when he comes back with United but he's forfeited that now taking a new job whilst under contract. There's no way I'll be cheering him, in fact I'll probably give both West Ham and Chelsea a miss. There's no way I'm sitting there like a small time fan who's wishing him well at a bigger club.

He has been our manager for 11 years and regardless of his faults he leaves the club in a far better situation than when he left it.

I don't like the way this has ended but lets have a bit of class eh? Give the man a good send off against the Hammers

The problem with 'giving Moyes a proper send off' is that the only reason he feels the need to leave in the first place is because the criminally incompetent board have been unable/unwilling to back him and assist him in building a side that matches his ambition.

There's very little to celebrate as an Everton fan; we're 'Everton fans' after all, not 'David Moyes fans'.

It's nothing to do with showing class as a fan, or being unappreciative of his efforts.

We should be getting on the backs of the board big time and creating a fuss to bring about change, not backslapping someone and wishing them well at one of our competitors.

It's an extremely sad day in the history of our football club; I despair at some fan's laissez faire attitude towards the situation.

Even if Moyes had had millions and millions to spend once a club like Utd come along he would be stupid to knock it back

I don't think so.

Many of us put the New Year slump down to the emergence of the "contract negotiations" issue which reared its head in January and the seaon started going south.

Those of us whom pointed out this self evident truism were derided and told it made no differemce.

We now know that it made a tremendous difference as the manager's mind was elsewhere, because negotiations for this ascent to the OT throne didn't just start this morning with the Fergie announcement.

IMO they have been ongoing for several months now to the detriment of Everton FC.

Moyes unsettled the club in the midst of what was looking a very promising campaign.

This is now irrefutable.

But it appears a done deal now and I for one feel relieved that is is all but over and I look forward to next season with a great deal more enthusiasm than I was twenty four hours ago.

There is one matter I think should be cleared up, though.

It's obvious David Moyes's mind is a million miles away from Everton right now and I don't think he should be involved in theam selection or tactics for our final two games.

Let Sheedy and Stubbs pick the team.

I think that would be a bit of fun.

what a tit, moyes has brought us from constant relegation battles to challenging for european football,if he leaves,i wish him well he deserves it.i will send him off with well wishes
