Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

Disagree with this post entirely, it's very narrow minded. Where were we 11 years ago compared to now. Would you welcome a Rooney return?

tempted to say - 7 years away from our last trophy , now we are 18 years away and a lot more in dept.
but i wont. ;)

Moyes should get a fantastic send off. He has done an incredible job for our club and I don't understand anyone who would not give him a standing ovation at the end of the West Ham game. We don't even know he's leaving yet and if he does we don't know where he's going.

what was this New Years slump you speak off? We was unbeaten in January. Also everton should never be classed as a bit of fun.

We had a run of fixtures starting halfway through January which over the following month I thoughtwould have left us firmly ensconsed in the top four.

bu-uut:

Swansea (h) 0-0

Saints (a) 0-0

Baggies (h) 2-1

Villa (h) 3-3

United (a) 0-2

Norwich (a) 1-2

That's a meagre six points from a possible eighteen.

Leave out United away and we won only one out of five very winnable fixtures........all as the Moyes "contract" fiasco was starting up.

The way he has strung the club along in the latter half of this season is leaving a very bitter taste in the mouths of many fans.

BTW....of course Everton is supposed to be about "fun".

If you can't take any "fun" out of supporting your team then I am glad you don't sit near me on matchdays....(n)

Steady on.

He didn't do an "incredible job" for the club.

He was a decent enough manager and did a good, steady job.

But "incredible"?

No, sir.

if it can happen to us it can happen to spurs (fingers crossed)

when i was born we were the 2nd most successful team in england.

we've won 1 trophy since.

we've fought relegation numerous times.

we deserve better.

moyes has tried, tried to get us noticed more from being a team no one knew much about to one of the more dominant sides in the league rather than a rollover, which is great, but we deserve better.

we deserve to be challenging for titles, we deserve to be winning trophies.

but now, football is run by money, and therefore, history, deserving the above means nothing unless you have someone who will supply you with endless cash, endless funds to buy you the best players in the world.

He's still Everton Manager until the end of the season. Regardless of what ever anyone thinks, he's worked miracles for our club, and has done an amazing job.

"miracles"......."amazing"

I must have been transported to Bizarro World or something where achieving and maintaining a higher standard of mediocrity is greeted with hyperbole squared (n)

Considering where we were when he took over and where we are now, you'd say that is a 'steady' job?

Bearing in mind as well I'm only old enough to remember the reigns of Walter Smith and David Moyes. It's all subjective I suppose.

He's turned us from relegation battlers to European contenders on a limited budget, he's been fantastic.

In the same way that Ferguson will remain United manager until the last game of the season, Moyes should be Everton manager until then, too. I'd prefer them to announce it tomorrow and get all the pointless speculation out of the way (which is a massive distraction for us), to be honest. I'll certainly give Moyes a good send-off, as well. We haven't won trophies or titles with him, but he's done a very good job for us and leaves us greatly improved from when he took over. He's served the club loyally for over a decade. The man deserves our thanks, simple as.

I see both sides but mostly agree with this.

No, we haven't.

Don't believe the revisionists.

We came close to relegation twice.....in '94 and '98.

Maybe flirted with the lower regions another couple times but were well safe with a half dozen games to go.

And in Moyes's first full season in charge we finished one place above the relegation zone....on thirty nine points.

A total which would get a club relegated most years.

So let's not go over the top here, potato.

Everton under Moyes were no better than they ought to be.

You're a young lad....embrace the future and view the impending arrival of a new manager with optimism and excitement.

Because we are in danger of seeing the legacy of the Moyes era being one of down in the mouth negativity and defeatism.

Moyes has never built up expectation....never engendered great hope.....never talked up our great and proud club and its magnificane fans.

This man sent his team out at Man. City last season with a statement to the press that he was "bringing a knife to a gunfight".

He should have been sacked that night, IMO.
