I remember when I was 16, Sharp's son Chris played with me in my team in Ellesmere Port, I think for one or a maximum of two seasons. He wasn't that good to be honest, but looks like he's somehow forged a low-level career from the game, likely based on his dad's name. Anyway, his dad would always - and I mean every game - stand nowhere near the other parents and watch the game from behind one of the goals. Found that a bit weird. My dad is a die-hard Blue and Sharpy is one of his heroes, I bet he'd have loved to get to know him a bit.

I met him once on holiday in the south of France. Asked him for a photo and he invited me and my girlfriend to join him and his friends for a few drinks. Quite shy but honestly just the nicest and most humble guy.

I like Sharpy, I like Bill, but is there any need for this BS of a new role? No. I don’t know if he was being paid as an ambassador? I don’t know if he getting more money for this. I’d be pretty suspicious that he’s not giving up his time for free. But this is classic Bill misty eye sentimentality.

Before people think, I’m begrudging this happens all the time at the club, Jeffers, brought in after falling on hard times after Judesing us, Rooney brought in on 140k a week after f ing us over, you can go on, there are many examples over the years. You wouldn’t put it past Bill to have Rooney back now as a coach in a couple years.

This Bill sentimentality stuff underpins a massively bad culture at the club.

Unfortunately stuck with him like a marriage vow in sickness and in health, only way out will be feet first.

However I do like Sharpie and have to say what I really remember is his goal at the red shed.

We are millions in debt and that gets announced - not the greatest timing by the club as per - Sharpie was a great player, and probably does a great job but why a title he's already employed ......for life ... not many jobs in that category now... Look he was the highest scorer since Dixie Dean for us - how time change Dixe got a job at Littlewoods in the warehouse doorman etc - good luck to Sharpie but the announcement was ill timed when we need a team out there on the park.....

He won't be getting paid that much mate, it's not going to make the slightest difference to the debt.
 
Whenever a job like this became available, It was always going to be Sharp.
A yes man who never upsets the club no matter what is happening. He is an Everton legend and there probably wasn’t many on a list to rival him for the position.
I just feel sorry for the likes of Southall who wants the best for the club and questions things when they are not right, and because of this has been pretty much cast aside.
Thats BK all over though.

He will be getting a good wedge its the clubs inability to announce record losses then blag this - it shows how we are run not very good not getting personal it's the manner its done it has BK all over it.......
