Frankly, he had it coming. He's been spoiling for days for a ruckus.

I have a tangent thread for Dyche.

Full time managers only (unless something immaculate happened)

Kendall ii
walker
Royle
Kendall iii
Smith
Moyes
martinez
koeman
allardyce
Silva
Ancelotti
benitez
Lampard
Dyche
Moyes ii

Right, that's the line up for the invention of football PL years (helps it's all televised).

Pick the best goal of each tenure.
I still find it unbelievable we went from Ancelotti to fat Benitez.

Wasn't it 6 in 40+ games? And some on hear still claim we were lucky to have him. Boggles the mind.
Dyche secured our PL status when it looked very much in jeopardy. It's quite possible to be grateful for that, while acknowledging that the footie was turgid, he lacked ambition and failed miserably to build on the platform. Moyes has shown immediately that this squad, limited though it is, is far better than they were showing while shackled by Dyche. Since Ancelotti, I had almost forgotten what it was like to enjoy watching Everton. Thank God for Davey Moyes.

You would imagine that he is now in a position where he doesn’t need to work, financially. So it’s more about ego, if he is happy to sign off from management with Everton being his last job and being sacked.
When he left Burnley I seem to remember him going on various radio shows and podcasts, to try and keep his name out there, I don’t think he has done that this time.
I wonder if our upturn has form has threw a spanner in the works? If we had been losing I'd imagine he'd be everywhere going "well I told you so, players aren't good enough".

Season one, he probably got us out of jail. Could other managers had done it too? Undoubtedly, looking at the current evidence. We were sold a lie by Dyche himself, the club to some degree and definitely by his supporters on here, that only he could save us and that we should be on bended knee thanking him every day for doing the impossible. That has now been shown up as a fantasy. This club and it's supporters should never except 6 wins in over a year of league football. I'm not even a Moyes fan, but he's leagues above that one paced cretin.

Looking back, for me the writing was on the wall when he said 'I wouldn't be here if the club was doing well' or words to that effect. You can't really be saying that and expect to be taken seriously in the long term tbh. He never really fully backed himself, which became very evident in his final days.
