He still holding out for a top European club?

No, that's Benitez holding out for a top club still isn't it?.
Are we saying that Sean Dyche is cousin Eddie from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation?

As I said - when it works it's great. When it's not working it's arguably a little antiquated and ugly looking. You've helpfully pointed out the games where it's worked and the game where it clearly didn't which was the game where we've looked the most dychesk.

I'd say that quickly getting compact off the ball, hitting long passes and conceding the lions share of possession isn't a million miles away and we definitely still do that. We seem much, much better working on the second ball with the midfield a lot more willing to join attacks quicker but there are quite a few of the same basic building blocks. Of course there's perhaps a lot more behind the scenes and a lot could be down to better man management but tactically there really hasn't been a massive difference - just a tweak or two that's really working.

My point isn't a criticism of Moyes or a yearning for Dycheball.

I'm merely of the opinion that though we are in good form I don't believe it will last as that is the nature of Premier League football unless you have an excellent squad. We clearly don't have an excellent squad so I'd urge a note of caution and I wouldn't be massively surprised if we hit a patchier spell and as a result look bad when those little moments start to go against us.

When that happens, and it is when not if, there will be a few who start with the unfair shouts of tactical inflexibility, predictable subs and having his undroppable favourites. All accusations that don't bother them when the side is winning.
I don't consider actually playing O'Brien and using Beto the right way as "tweaks" -- they were obvious corrections that almost all of us on here would have made. Just shows how goddamn rigid Dyche was in his thinking. Stevie Wonder could see Beto wasn't a target man, but all Dyche did was lump balls forward to him.

He’s seeing dead people again.

Frankly, he had it coming. He's been spoiling for days for a ruckus.

I have a tangent thread for Dyche.

Right, that's the line up for the invention of football PL years (helps it's all televised).

Pick the best goal of each tenure.

You would imagine that he is now in a position where he doesn’t need to work, financially. So it’s more about ego, if he is happy to sign off from management with Everton being his last job and being sacked.
When he left Burnley I seem to remember him going on various radio shows and podcasts, to try and keep his name out there, I don’t think he has done that this time.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s just mentally done in from it all and is having a break. You never know may even be reflecting on his own performance and looking to see how he can change as a manager. He’ll pop up on MNF and podcasts around October when the first manager looks in trouble and he’s putting his name out there effectively.
