Robbing a living ATM Bargain at the beginning - being good in the dressing room does not warrant a players wage - he needs to start his coaching badges for us ASAP -
"They always cheat, they always lie, feck Delaney and the FAI" was a decades old chant by the time he fell. Media and International players were always quick to sneer and attack LOI punters asking questions.Ireland are more limited that they should be - John Delaney culture dictates that.
We should be competing with the likes of Denmark, Switzerland, and Croatia - countries of our size. The whole GAA excuse is a red herring. We underachieve at international level because we prefer to drink booze from the shoes of Delaney than demand accountability.
The fans drank from his shoes in the Czech Republic. We get what we deserve. It was the same with the financial crash. Bertie should have got more Vs Enda. What a Hobsons choice. The fans drank from his shoes in the Czech Republic. We get what we deserve. It was the same with the financial crash. "We all partied".
Those who complained, as you say, were ostracised. But we were always the minority. Bertie Ahern got 43% of the vote or so on THREE occasions. Irish people got what they deserved, by and large.
The most played sport in the country is soccer. Not GAA.
The reason GAA is better organised and funded is because the culture of soccer is exclusionary. It excludes the middle class and the educated. That's why the best administrators tend to end up in the local GAA or rugby club. Soccer clubs are very often run by former jailbirds and other undesirables. The League of Ireland is run by money launderers and spivs.
Until the culture of Delaney is eradicated, we'll always be playing catch up to other countries of our size.
I have played schoolboy soccer in teams managed by ex-jailbirds. It's not as uncommon as some might wish. The only thing i agree with you on in this post mate (and I'm currently involved in all three sports) is the last sentence.

He already has his UEFA B and UEFA A badges, he’s been studying for years.Robbing a living ATM Bargain at the beginning - being good in the dressing room does not warrant a players wage - he needs to start his coaching badges for us ASAP -
By lots of accounts, Ferguson is a good coach. Just not a good manager.Lets not just automatically offer him a coaching job like Ferguson, Unsworth etc.
As soon they left they were completely found out and can't get a job at any level now.
Let him prove himself at a lower level and if he's any good he'll find his way back here.
We really need to move on from jobs for the boys mentality. We need the best coaches at every level of the club, regardless of whether they played for us or not.
What has anyone seen from him that makes you think he deserves to be a first team coach?
