Seamus Coleman Calls Time On Everton Playing Career

Unless he goes back to Sligo I can't see him playing again

I`d say he won`t be going back to Sligo until his kids have left the school they`ve been in since they started.

His kids were all born in Liverpool and have lived their entire lives in the same house just down the road from us.

Not that you see him much, but when you do, he`s a genuinely top fella, always got time for anyone who wants to stop and have a chat with him.

When my eldest lad was younger, I had to tell him to leave him alone, as he was bothering him for photos that much, when he was in the local park with his kids

I had a mate who worked at Finch Farm for years and he said the exact same things about him too and that if anyone parked in the disabled parking bays without a badge, he`d get the owner found and they`d get told to move it, no matter who it was - his younger brother is disabled.

Maybe he could play for Sligo and just get the ferry over for matchdays

From 2012 until the leg break there were very few better in the position. And yet somehow everything he did for the club in that second half of his time here, when his playing ability had diminished and his body had packed it in, was even more valuable.

Really hope he chooses to stay at Everton in some capacity. Finding good people in football is not an easy task, and so he will always have some unique to give.

….i’d be thinking he’ll want to have a go at management, maybe with the aim of being in the hot seat here or ROI one day. I didn’t get the impression he’d be back here as a coach next season even though that offer is on the table.

I’d imagine there’ll be a few suitors interested in taking a punt on Coleman the Manager, sounds like he’ll wait and see what comes up.

A player rightly (and later than he should have) finishing his playing career should not be that emotional, but somehow this is.

He is the only player I know of that is always mentioned how good a man he is. He has been a great footballing servant to us, but it speaks volumes at just how much is spoken about him as a human being.

I think the word legend should apply to him, for that reason alone. In footballing terms there is always a debate on the word legend. This guy is a legend, regardless of the on pitch criteria.

Just seen a video where he says he hopes people see him as an Evertonian. Seamus, there is no need to worry. You are 100% one of us for life.

Feel like crying haha

It was nailed on to happen but still, sad to see it officially in writing.

A legend, for what he was on and off the pitch. A guy you were always proud to represent the club, and honestly, that speaks louder than silverware ever could.

I shed a tear at Ferguson’s last home game, but am nailed on to actually cry on Sunday now.
