Seamus Coleman Calls Time On Everton Playing Career

Players that have retired, and some managers, all talk a very similar thing.
"It only really hits you on that first Saturday at 3 o'clock and you are not there, that's when you know".

For so many it has been their entire life, and the transition can be tough. I hope he has something lined up to help him through.

only 20 odd premier league players each week are do playing on a saturday at 3 o clock

He’s been an excellent player over the years, father time caught up with him a couple of seasons ago and he’s been kept on amongst the playing staff because of his high standards and for being a geniune link between supporters and players to keep them honest and explain what is expected of them, by us.

Today is the day we should all say thank you to Seamus, respect his decision and wish him well in whatever the future holds for a man who genuinely deserves every success that comes his way. Cheers Seamus and all the best.

It feels like Seamus has retired a couple years since.

A great player for us and a great captain.

Such a shame we never won owt with him in the team.

He will be remembered by today’s generation of Blues with the same fondness us 70s boys remember a similar one club man, great Evertonian and skipper…Mick Lyons.

Go raibh maith agat, Seamus agus slán leat 👍

You speak my language mate.

Seamus and Mick are the two Evertonians I think of at the same time.

Mick Lyons stamping on Jimmy Case's legs in the derby should be on the big screen at the stadium before every derby there.

Coleman's end.... Kinda slips off the tongue
