Perhaps so, but the quality of the Scottish leagues has just fell beyond repair. Personally, I don't think Celtic would even do too well in the Championship nowadays. Such has the league regressed.

Hibs may have gotten through, but how confident are you of the progression of those three and Celtic going to the groups in Europe?

Celtic Vs. Rosenborg then AEK Athens
Rangers Vs. Osijek then potentially Maribor
Hibs Vs. Asteras Tripoli then potentially Molde
Aberdeen Vs. Burnley then Basaksehir

My prediction is only Celtic remain after this round, which is a shame cause I like the home nations to do well, would mean everything to Aberdeen etc to have a group stage campaign!

Happily wrong.

Hibs and Rangers performing well and getting through, Aberdeen performing probably better and going out.

Aberdeen get Burnley, Basaksehir... meanwhile TNS get Lincoln Red Imps, yeah.... The further dilution of the Europa is a joke.

But lets get something back to Scotland, christ, it needs it.

I feel that i what i said about Derek McInnes was justified.Of course i didn't know at the time, that Stevie Gerrard would end up in the Ibrox hotseat.Anyway you win these sort of games, and you get no credit. That's just the way it is.As of now though, the new manager is doing eveything that's asked of him.Bigger challenges lie ahead though.

Morton 2 v 2 Queen of the South

Sitting comfortably at 2-0 with 20 mins to go, the manager decided to throw our centre backs up for a corner, ball cleared and 15 seconds later it was 2-1. Instead of concentrating on defending the lead, we pushed players forward again and lost another sloppy and totally avoidable goal. Said it would be a draw before kick off, but disappointed by the manner of the draw as we looked good for long spells.

Sorry, Rangers thread for this level of whataboutary, lets save this thread for Scottish football please.

What do you mean 'your comments were justified' you potherb, McInnes once again finished runner up and above Rangers, he knows which side his bread is buttered on, Aberdeen might not be as big as Rangers but they are better run, don't have the baggage and consistently finish above Rangers , you talk absolute tosh and need to take a good look at yourself.

Aye, that was only to highlight your general ignorance of Scottish football, but you're doing a grand job of that yourself. ;)

Yeah McInnes won a Scottish league cup in 2014.But his Aberdeen side are constantly bridesmaids to Celtic.Even Graeme Murty got the better of him, on a few occasions last season.Derek McInnes is a good manager, but i do feel that what he has apparently "achieved" at Aberdeen is overstated. He strikes me as a man, who is happy enough in his own comfort zone, and good luck to him with that.

If guardiola was in charge at the sheep they would still be bridesmaids to celtic mate

The guy should really be called Cork Ashtonian Rob, he is a fantasist and an antagonist, he constantly contradicts himself at every turn and having a reasonable conversation with him proves really difficult.
Here are just a few of his posts, on here I like to think especially on this thread that we can be true to ourselves and respect the intelligence of others, this guy just abuses the privilege and treats us like idiots.

As for his final sentence well words just fail me.

I don't like any of the old firm.Im just giving Rangers a bit of credit for something.Celtic are on 48 league titles now.So if Rangers decline continues then Celtic should break that record in 7 years time.

Im not a Rangers fan btw!I just think Scottish football needs a strong Rangers.Celtic winning the thing at a canter every year is not good for Scotish football.

up.Leigh Griffths will get his comeuppance some other day im sure!I think we need to get a few proper Gers like Andy Goram and Ian Ferguson in that backroom team.Just to remind those wimps what a Rangers player should be doing when they play Celtic.lol[/QUOTE]

I think it was on this thread where i was telling the story about the dude who showed up for the school sports day in a Rangers shirt.Well that person was me.It goes back to a match or shoot magazine annual from the early 90's (christmas 1993 i think it was) and there was an article on Rangers league title win.I just preferred the Rangers shirt. That 1996/1997 McEwans Lager Rangers shirt is for me the classic Rangers shirt.I just found Celtics green and white hoops to be ugly. The Celtic shirt just looked like puke in my eyes.It resembled something that you'd wipe the dinner table with.So irrespective of all the strings attached with becoming a Rangers fan i went with them because they had a nicer shirt.Being a lapsed Irish catholic and supporting Rangers eh.It's a bit like a Jewish person declaring that they are gay in Nazi Germany. But hey at least they play in Blue.
