Neil Lennon and Brendan Rodgers v Ally McCoist and Walter Smith.Leaving things like sectarianism aside.I think i find a lot of Rangers main personalities over the years to be a lot more likeable than Celtics.Fat Sally for example is a way better footballing man and human being than Neil Lennon in my book.

Remember being at a Kilmarnock V Celtic game many years ago. It was Ally McCoists last game before retiring and taken up a career as chief pie taster for Greggs. Anyway... it was at the time when Ally and John Parrott were on Question of Sport. Instead of booing him we spent the whole game chanting 'There's only one John Parrott' he took it in the good spirit it was meant.

Also another lovely story is both Walter and Ally were pallbearers at Celtic legend Tommy Burns funeral. So for me they are good guys. But I do like Neil Lennon.

At the end of the day. Its just a sport. They want their team to win we want ours to win.

So celtic fans are quite rightly getting behind Scott sinclair after the racism he received at a recent game
Even handing him a kick racism out t-shirt
Wonder what shay logan thinks

Racism only happens to Celtic players

One of my favourite defences for Tonev was "He's Bulgarian, how on Earth would he have a good enough grasp of English to say what was claimed?"

And then there were those who were claiming that Logan was lying

I love Neil Lennon btw, the more abrasive he gets the more I enjoy him

If he was Everton manager we'd finally win a Derby, no doubt in my mind

No one should have to go through what he did just because they had the temerity to try and beat another team at football

Getting attacked on the sidelines by fans, getting bombs in the post, I admired his bravery when he coped with all that

Some of the abuse Neil Lennon got was really despicable when he was at Celtic.I do think he didn't help things with the way he carried on at times though. He went close to the line and crossed it a few times too much in my opinion.

What did he actually do to cross the line though?

As far as I can tell, his only crimes were to not roll over and have his tummy tickled every time he played Rangers and being a catholic (a fact people in Northern Ireland didn't seem to mind when he was playing for Leicester)

I'd trade him in as club captain over a guy like Jags any day, because at least folk like Lennon are as desperate to win a Derby as the fans in the stand

Speaking of Rangers there was no need to throw the book at them to that extent.Sending Rangers all the way down to the fourth tier destroyed Scottish football by allowing Celtic to gain a monopoly and foothold on the league. So they overspent during the Souness Smith mark 1 and Advocaat years.Sending them down as far as the championship would have been punishment enough imo. It's like the Scottish FA in cahoots with Celtic wanted to wipe Rangers off the face of the planet.

Terrific game last night in the playoff semi final between Dundee Utd and Falkirk. Reminded me a lot of the playoff semi vs Hibs last year. Hopefully the 2nd game goes the same way as last year too! Well worth a watch for anyone at a loose end on Friday night

Rangers weren't demoted to the fourth tier. The Oldco went into liquidation, meaning the Newco had to reapply to join the league, something the SFA were all in favour of

However, the existing clubs in the top flight had to agree to vote Rangers back in. The supporters of those clubs made it clear that they would protest and not renew season tickets if this were to occur. The clubs wanted Rangers and the games authorities wanted Rangers, but the fans did not and they got their way

It wasn't Celtic or the SFA who made Rangers start in the fourth tier, it was the fans of Dundee United, Aberdeen, Ross County etc

And Celtics monopoly is no different to the same one Rangers enjoyed during 9 in a row, where Murrays financial doping allowed them to dominate whilst Celtic almost went out of business. The difference is Celtic got a shrewd businessman in Fergus Mccan who rescued them and made them financially prudent, whereas Rangers were offloaded by a desperate Murray to a charlatan in Craig Whyte

And Rangers being away has not been the death knell for the game at all. Aberdeen have used it to become the unquestioned second best team in the country, The Highland sides, St Johnstone and St Mirren have all won cups they perhaps might not have done. Falkirk have reached finals and BT Sport are prepping themselves for perhaps the biggest bid ever to get exclusivity for the TV rights

There was no conspiracy. Rangers were financially imprudent, their owner pawned them off to a joker who ended up liquidating them and meanwhile Celtic were able to take the throne by default due to being infinitely smarter with their money

It was the fans taking a stand that meant a Newco club had to start in the fourth tier. There was no punishment or demotion. Rangers "sins" died with the Oldco, along with their automatic right to top flight status. Had they just gone into administration like Hearts, they would have just got a points deduction and a transfer ban, if that. Liquidation changed everything

Im not a Rangers fan btw!I just think Scottish football needs a strong Rangers.Celtic winning the thing at a canter every year is not good for Scotish football.
