His comments and handling of both Lookman and Klaassen are an absolute disgrace. He always looked a disaster from the get go and surprise surprise he’s proving exactly that.

I want to feel optimistic again about Everton but that’s just impossible right now. Roll on May, appoint Fonseca or someone else that will get us genuinely excited, appoint a competent DOF if we’re still going down that route, bring back Lookman and Onyekuru and make a few much better signings whilst binning some of the cowards we currently have wearing the shirt.

Anyone who says we weren’t going down before he appeared is wrong. We were going down.

Decent points return since he’s come in. He was given a remit to keep us up this season and he’s ensuring we do just that.

He’s doing the right thing in targeting specific games and abandoning others considering how precarious our position is.

I’d expect him to be in charge at the start of next season because I have no confidence in any of the potential replacements to keep us up.

6/10 for me so far, maybe 7.

Add to that the comments about Tosun, shocked when I read that in the echo just now. I mean, what a great way to build up the players confidence!

Never have I had such dislike for any Everton manager or player as I do now . Sam is not a club man and it shows. The players most definitely need to be told a few home truths but how does he justify the public slating of them - especially when he made so many changes from a winning Leicester side? That was bad management given that he recognises that consistency is an issue.

No one said Sam isn’t a specialist. One of the characteristics of a specialist is to target specific games for points and manage the squad around the others. He showed that yesterday he’s not prepared to mess about and had one eye on the palace game by resting Coleman and taking off Walcott.

See your point but the players are so spineless and lacking in confidence, I don't have the belief in Sam that he can now pick the players up and ready to win the next game .

Grim.

Not one of those journos pulled him up on his team selection. He completely shifted the blame onto the players for 'not following instructions'.

The journos are not managers, it's their job to toss a spanner in the works. I thought it was an excellent interview and Sam showed a couple of them up for what they were. If some here call our players "shithouses" then why can't the team manager be candid about them? Am I the only one who's proud of the way Sam stood up for the team's fighting spirit in gaining points from losing positions? Love him or hate him, Sam is just venting his frustration like the rest of us. I would have loved to have heard him say we were "phenomenally" bad in the first half.

Some of you lot want to have your cake and eat it too.

This manager has put one decent team out since he’s been here and what does he do the next match? He shreds it to go defensive. Literally everyone knew when they saw that side what would happen.
He has always been a vastly overrated manager, mostly by himself. I have personally never admired him or his teams, and witnessing his methods up close has hardened my view of him.
He has lost the fans and possibly the players as well. From this point forward he is a lame duck manager and the sooner he departs the better.

He put out a team to try to emulate Swansea. Management is about the selection for the next game, not picking the same players who beat an obviously unsettled Leicester team. Tell you what? Why not apply for the job if Sam gets sacked?
