In the world of social media, the cult of personality I think influnced here, essentially it doesn’t matter if he was a bell, it only matters that he got results and snagged 130 mill. Ultimately that’s probably the max he could have achieved given the context. A good job done.

I don’t want to go for a pint with him, I wanted him to get results, couldn’t be arsed about likening him or not to be honest. I actually think it’s pretty weird that, that matters to people.
With all due respect the dire football was the main reason for his unpopularity, his unlikeable persona was merely an added problem.
I don’t enjoy going the match and seeing us have one shot on target, and some games we didn’t even manage that.
Furthermore while a manager doesn’t have to be likeable he should be able to at least inspire you and if your team isn’t doing well to give you hope that better times where ahead. Allardyce couldn’t even achieve that.
Was I entertained? Was I heck!

I won’t go over all ground as either side of the debate is dogma at this stage and prob they will never meet.

The one thing I would say is he got results, with another mans poorly assembled team. It was four but whatever limits were in the team weren’t of his devising. Ultimately the spectacle was poor, the reasons for that will be individual. Personally I think we were four before he came and four after but got results, he earned the opportunity for us to be picky about who we wanted as manager, which ultimately was hides down fall. Alanis Morsette wrote a song about it once.

So....Keith Harris is our new deputy chairman.
Does that mean that Orville gets to be chairman? Might do a better job when it comes to transfers than the present incumbent.
