Royston Drenthe

He'll go back to warming the bench for Real Madrid reserves safe in the knowledge he gave resurrecting his career and getting into the Dutch squad for the Euros his best shot. Or not.

Im wondering why mourinho hasnt sold him instead of loaning him out, maybe he does see something there, he sold balotelli when he had the chance and ues way more talented

Drenthe = the knife we were bringing to the cup SF gunfight, which was then left in the draw by the three times Manager of the Year.

That'll always be my abiding memory.

Well done ginger minge.

Yep. Moyes got this one terribly wrong. Not the discipline mind. Just the timing of it. What a cockup !!

Selfish, pacey, arrogant and stepovers... he was my kind of player, should of been involved in the semi unless he had been convicted of murder.

My kind of scum. Fearless and inventive...oh, wait.... What I meant is that I agree with your post 100%.

A bloody shame because he has talent and was showng signs of being a team player - I was really impressed with the shift he put in when we beat city.

But clearly a troubled fella. On a human level you hope he can get it together and stop being a tit. Moyes gave him some time off to sort himself out due to personal problems and he threw it back in Moyes' face. Ultimately Moyes is in charge, you play by his rules. I don't think Moyes handled it badly at all.

He did on the timing of booting him from the team. You don't kick him out BEFORE the semifinal. You boot him out after that.

As soon as it went in I thought "FFS Royston lad Everton players don't do that".

Ha...they don't. Our players pass it around and try not to have it nicked off of them. If it all works out, then we may get a shot off.

If that were to happen it would be another Ballotelli situation, where he gets his act together for a couple of months and then has another wobbler causing all sorts of problems, worth the risk?

Yes.

One thing I've learned in my short 13 years of supporting Everton is that Evertonians want to have their cake and eat it too. Often times, they fail to realize that a player of that kind of quality may come with baggage. Often times, they don't. The ones that don't, play for Milan, Barca, Bayern, etc.... The ones that do, clubs like Everton take a flyer on. Why? Cause none of the big boys will.

Yeah it would have been a risk, but you've got to weigh the pros with the cons and at the end of the day, I figure the pros would have outweighed the cons in regards to Drenthe.

I just don't understand how we can afford to be choosy. Quite literally.

We can't. But since we have a limited budget, apparently we need to be careful about who we sign. Hence, Everton is made up of the players we have now. I doubt we'll ever have room for a player of REAL TECHNICAL SKILL like Drenthe or Fernandes, players who can turn the game around in a flash. As someone so accurately said earlier, never Moyes type players anyway.

So your saying you would pay this Clown around 80k a week to show up for training when he felt like it, ignore his bosses orders and basically do what he liked as long as he turned up on a Saturday and did stuff?

And then, the other 20 players in the squad decided that they didnt need to turn up for training or take any notice of orders given.

I wonder how that would turn out.

Really? You think that's how it would go down?

I suspect that if Moyes ever had the balls to sign a player like Drenthe, that there would be some disciplinary clauses built in.

Remember, this is David Moyes were talking about...

...yeah, in which case, we'd never get a player like him to play for us.

Never mind.

Donovan is a overall better player than drenthe.

People get carried away with the fact hes available on a free but i imagine the cost of donovan over a 3 yr period would be no more to the club than drenthe once everything is taken into account.

Drenthe.. Even taking away his piss poor attitude would be no more than a impact sub at the top teams.

Listen , FOR THE LAST TIME ..

Forget the fukn Semi ...

If wedve WON the SEmi , weda STILL Got wellied in the Final , cause hes Cuckoo .

Peanut , NOT Drenthe was the BIG miss ..

Yous fukas dont half hang on to the weirdest - THAT IS ; LEAST WORTHY players ...

Koff Moyles .. Koff Kenwrong ..

An'like that , eh ???

If uny yous had a clue ...
