It was Real Madrid, sorry. can't remember the lads name, but I wouldn't believe they have too many Turkish players hanging around at Real. So a wiki through their squad should locate him easily enough.

Listen , FOR THE LAST TIME ..

Forget the fukn Semi ...

If wedve WON the SEmi , weda STILL Got wellied in the Final , cause hes Cuckoo .

Peanut , NOT Drenthe was the BIG miss ..

Yous fukas dont half hang on to the weirdest - THAT IS ; LEAST WORTHY players ...

Koff Moyles .. Koff Kenwrong ..

An'like that , eh ???

If uny yous had a clue ...

At least someone is talking abit of sense on here about Drenthe.

The moment one player thinks he's bigger than the team you lose all discipline in the dressing room.

He was a mentalist and some of the implied comments make me think this was a near miss.

Oh and we DID massively miss Pienaar - a player who means WE KEEP THE BALL !!!!

If we get him and another pienaar - type player / winger who can KEEP THE BALL !!! plus build on this year we'll do alright next season.

*prays to god for pienaar, a winger and a second striker and Bidwell/Garbutt step up*

KEEP THE BALL !!!

Yep. Moyes got this one terribly wrong. Not the discipline mind. Just the timing of it. What a cockup !!

My kind of scum. Fearless and inventive...oh, wait.... What I meant is that I agree with your post 100%.

He did on the timing of booting him from the team. You don't kick him out BEFORE the semifinal. You boot him out after that.

Ha...they don't. Our players pass it around and try not to have it nicked off of them. If it all works out, then we may get a shot off.

Yes.

One thing I've learned in my short 13 years of supporting Everton is that Evertonians want to have their cake and eat it too. Often times, they fail to realize that a player of that kind of quality may come with baggage. Often times, they don't. The ones that don't, play for Milan, Barca, Bayern, etc.... The ones that do, clubs like Everton take a flyer on. Why? Cause none of the big boys will.

Yeah it would have been a risk, but you've got to weigh the pros with the cons and at the end of the day, I figure the pros would have outweighed the cons in regards to Drenthe.

We can't. But since we have a limited budget, apparently we need to be careful about who we sign. Hence, Everton is made up of the players we have now. I doubt we'll ever have room for a player of REAL TECHNICAL SKILL like Drenthe or Fernandes, players who can turn the game around in a flash. As someone so accurately said earlier, never Moyes type players anyway.

Really? You think that's how it would go down?

I suspect that if Moyes ever had the balls to sign a player like Drenthe, that there would be some disciplinary clauses built in.

Remember, this is David Moyes were talking about...

...yeah, in which case, we'd never get a player like him to play for us.

Never mind.

Not sure about that logic Bill - you kick him out after the semi and then people are moaning we haven't got him for the final (assuming he'd have made the difference, of course). So then should Moues keep him? It also assumes Drenthe was mentally fit to play. If he was showing up in all kinds of emotional turmoil and unfocused does he deserve a place in the squad? Remember the 1998 world cup final when Ronaldo was out of his mind? Really helped Brazil... Also, what if his continued presence caused disharmony and distraction in the squad. Remember the Lescott effect and you 'mare against Arsenal? Everton are more than just one player.

Now, I admit a lot of this is speculation and conjecture, but so is the hypothesis that Drenthe WOULD make a difference. LCAB seems to suggest Drenthe was a danger to himself and others, so to speak. So I'm sticking to my guns my friend!
