Roberto Martinez discussion

I have a genuine question: can someone please tell me one player who is better this year than last?

The Hibbster.

And quite frankly, he is a better defender than Seamus so if Seamus is struggling going forward like he is this season, you'd be better having Hibbo at right back.

I most certainly would be, if anything good is going to come it's from Coleman and Baines. They're being hung out to dry by players in front of them being put as wingers who aren't wingers.

Quite.

And if the manager is going to persist with this "tactic" then we would be better off with Hibbo at right back.

He is much more suited to the "traditional" full back role than Seamus is.

Seamus's attacking threat has been all but nullified by Bobby's bizarre tactics.

And Baines just looks stale.....let's give Garbutt a run out in a home game.

He is fresh and at least we know we will see some proper corner kicks delivered.

See what you're saying, but I'd rather keep Coleman and Baines on, and get McGeady and Pienaar/Oviedo on the wings. Six of one, half a dozen of the other I fear.

Mirallas when playing is more consistent than he was last year but his injury record is still poor.
Lukaku's hold up play isn't great but probably improved
Baines before his injury was much better than last season.

Unfortunately doesn't compensate for the injuries and the erratic performances of some of our experienced players.

The positive must be that we will get better, it was almost a given in the Moyes era that we'd improve from this point and I think that'll happen this time as well. That's not to say pre season wasn't a shambles and our football up until this point hasn't been poor on the eye.

If we get past the quarter final of either cup competition a mini miracle has happened. Target 7th in the league and hope that's good enough for Europe.

Martinez was a disgrace today and hopefully he knows it. No point trying to sugar coat it. Fed up of his pathetic post-game comments which, quite frankly, are laughable. If Rodgers came out of with some of the rubbish Martinez does we'd all be laughing our arses off.

So true this, according to martinez after all his press conferences this season we haven't deserved to lose a game,he must be watching a different game to everybody else and quite frankly its getting very very annoying listening to the same [Poor language removed] time after time.

Do what I do mate and it'll save you some fume : don't listen to a word Martinez spouts. It's BS of the highest grade.

I don't think I've ever called for Martinez to go, he did a tremendous job last year, we're mid table and still in the FA Cup, Europa league and he brought in some good players....but... we've been terrible this year and I hope he can see what's going wrong and fix it asap, Moyes had an awful 2nd season but improved....here's hoping we'll be better in the league next year, this year is kaput already. concentrate on the cups and try to maintain position in the league
