Despite all the gloom.we really need to get behind the team tomorrow.we can still get a result if we look back a wee bit on our play.it's 11v11 and who wants it most and our support is vital.

lads, ladies, you seriously think that sacking Martinez today would be a good decision?
Seriously?

Sheedy? Unsworth? Dunc?

Laughable suggestions imo.

If there is just a single thing RM knows, it's how to win the FA Cup.

If we go out, bring a caretaker in. But for tomorrow we have a proven manager already at the helm.

On evidence of your semi passionate rallying call I'd have you in as caretaker right now instead of Martinez.

Don't you think it's strange that our massive downturn in form has coincided with the New owner?Early season you could say we were unlucky but now out play is proper poor. I believe the players have never been convinced with Martinez tactics and they are down tooling now because they now see big changes ahead and want Martinez gone.Hopefully they play for everton and themseves tomorrow rather than Martinez.
Think the players have known since the Arsenal game that he's gone the end of the season no matter what. They just can't get motivated to play for him in the league any more. The cup is different were they are playing for themselves, think we'll see a different attitude tomorrow.

Hope your right

You still backing Martinez lid?
Just thought it more relevant to put this in here as opposed to the match thread, if that's okay.

after seeing the stats from that derby coupled with the last 3 or 4 games, nah . Not because i don't think he's good enough, but he's lost the players. They're just not performaing whatsoever, the first 2/3rds of our league season we were easily the better team, we just needed better organisation and to get rid of howard. But he clearly can't learn from his mistakes, i thought he was wiser.

Shame, but there we go. can we really sack him if he wins us the FA Cup? If he brings us that then i'll be back behind him a fair bit, he's done some good business in the windows, so i don't worry about that aspect.

I've always said, if he goes, at worst he'll set us up with a great platform and he really has. He'll make a very good manager in the future, but he needs some guidance in the right direction regarding defensive tactics.

I don't see the point in getting rid before the semi though - he is a guy who has won this before let's not forget. The players have given up in the league because they have nothing to play for - they're still vastly talented and will put a lot more effort in you'd hope. They owe it to martinez because regardless of how they feel about his methods, they've let him down massively lately and some of the blame should be pointed at them too.

Look at chelsea this season, there's too much player power in football these days - it has saddened me a bit with the way our players have given up to an extent over the last few league games.

I think he needs to go but he has been unlucky. This season 73 points will walk into the Champions League and if RM with that total in 2014 had got that the whole story may have been different. He was like a breath of fresh air with his positive approach in that first season but it's all unraveled since. Looking back I think the writing was probably on the wall in the closing stages of the 2013/14 season when after beating Arsenal a Champions League place was in his own hands but he couldn't close it out!
Unlucky my arse

He got lucky season 1, as he inherited a side that had the defensive rigidity that was the legacy of a decade of Moyes

Seasons 2 and 3 we've seen the real Martinez philosophy come home to roost.

You can't put 2 entire consecutive seasons down to bad luck, he's a fatally flawed manager who is entrenched in his wretched philosophy to the detriment of actual results

Not many of us expect to go through.. On current form.

But we will all be singing them on tomorrow.

We will go 1-0 up and start singing "we shall not be moved" I will then have tears in my eyes thinking of those who we've all lost and who would love to be there with us.. And them Rom breaks through and smashes in to make it 2-0 in injury time.

Limbs everywhere.

Im telling ya..

This is on.

we had no chance vs united in 2009 though, imo, injuries were getting worse and they were arguably the best team in europe looking to clean up everything.

this is nowhere near that united team and we are a lot better than that everton team. anything can happen.

The idea of us winning a trophy under Martinez will cause unimaginable fume from my Kopite mates.

Make it happen Bobby. And then kindly drift off into the sunset of league 1 no markdom.

If we didn't sack him after that derby how we going to sack him after winning the FA cup.

If thats the case, somebody really needs to tell Leicester and Newcastle they are in the wrong places.

Do you think its a good barometer in general?

It certainly seems to be...

Martinez is done for, but the numbers show us to be mid-table so he hasnt really done too badly on paper.

The Derby however was a disgrace.
