Right now this club is a shambles

  • Our best player hounded out to the margins of the club
  • Good young players going backwards in their development
  • Players embarrassing the club on the pitch in front of the whole of the continent
  • Biggest transfer war-chest in the club's history flushed down the toilet
  • Ineffective leadership off the pitch from the club chairman, CEO and owner

We've stepped back in a time machine and this is the late 90s again.
Spot on as always Dave

I have witnessed all sorts of dross, excitement, joy, sadness all the emotions you can think of in my 50 years as a Toffee but last night and this season has been embarrassing and I have NEVER been embarrassed to be an Evertonian. Makes me a little sad when so optimistic during the Summer.

Come on Everton sort this. 1st thing Koeman out!

The summer feels a long time ago. All the talk of Everton becoming a dominant force. Back in the big time. And now three months into the season we look a hopeless laughing stock that spent more money than almost any other club like a drunken sailor.

We look foolish. That's what hurts most.

weve only lost 4 games in the league out of 8, not great but come on, this is a massive over reaction. 7 out of our first 11 players in most games are new players, give them some time to gel. This season isn't going to be a classic in the league but its only a matter of time before they start playing as a team, add a striker in January and finish the season well, decent cup run...team settled for next season.
Im as frustrated as the next Evertonian but some of the calls of embarrassment and worst team in a generation are frankly ridiculous, we are on bad form...its not like we have bad players, they just haven't become a team yet

was nice to see the crowd get behind us last night for a change when we were losing, certainly helped us on the field too...shame it still didn't go our way but gave me some hope

there is little to no indication that this lot under Koeman will turn a corner and start playing well

Formations and squad changes every game show Koeman is at a loss to what is happening and how to change it

Can't argue with any of this, except maybe the last bullet-point, but that's only because I haven't heard anything to suggest steps aren't being quietly taken out of the public eye.
I don't understand a lot of what Moshiri is doing. I can't see why he would leave Elstone in position, for one thing. The addition to the board of Keith Harris left me stumped, and I find the Jim White connection embarrassing. I hopeful still, however, if only because I don't see why anyone would spend so much acquiring shares only to watch their investment crumble.
Koeman has to go. I was happy enough with his appointment, but I don't see him improving things. I'm less concerned with his treatment of Barkley than his handling of Dowell, who could be a real jewel, and Kenny. Any appointment is a gamble, but I can't see past Unsworth right now. If nothing else, it would give us the chance to conduct a thorough search for a long-term replacement.

This is nothing new. Two managers on the bounce have outstayed their welcome. Even all those years ago it took us getting embarrassed at 'boro for smith to get the bullet.
I think not sacking managers as soon as the going gets tough is a great quality in a board. Having said that, I really don’t see how anything is going to change until the transfer window opens, unless Koeman pulls out a miracle. Perhaps late November / early December is the time to get rid if things still haven’t improved. Gives a new manager a month to assess the squad before the transfer window opens.

I'm trying to think of a positive.

Sigurdsson put in a good free kick last night.

What’s worrying is sacking him isn’t the answer, if you look at the club.

I cant think of another club in the Premier League that would still have their manager and DOF in place after what has unfolded throughout the transfer window and start of the season. Last night, with the antics of Williams was a new low. I'd give Walsh till the nd of the season but Koeman has got to go now. Another embarrassment awaits on Sunday otherwise.....

The fact that Moshiri hasn't promoted any one of note to the board tells me all I need to know about our off-field prospects. If he was the game changing investor he was supposed to be he'd have identified someone like Gill or similar to come in and oversee this club.
