Right now this club is a shambles

The fact that Moshiri hasn't promoted any one of note to the board tells me all I need to know about our off-field prospects. If he was the game changing investor he was supposed to be he'd have identified someone like Gill or similar to come in and oversee this club.

There was a lot of talk about Dein coming in, wasn't there? That's died a death. One of the many things that puzzle me about him is that in many situations, doing the right thing is just as easy as doing the wrong. Why would he keep Elstone and bring Harris on to the board, when he could have got someone useful instead. He's a rich man and can't be without contacts in both business and football. I'm just bemused he doesn't seem to be addressing the areas of concern.

QFT.
Are things actually any worse than the 05-06 season? At this exact point we'd been dumped out of CL, EL, and were bottom of the table with 1 win and 7 losses. We had scored exactly one goal in the league. Not sure this is quite the worst of times.. yet.

Being more rubbish in the past is no excuse for the current shambles, obvs.

Much worse psychologically, I would say.

Because in those days we all thought we were a mere change of ownership and a billionaire backer coming on board away from solving our problems.

We appeared to have got that last year so that roll of the dice is gone :(

And we are right back where we started in 2005.

I've gone from genuine curiosity when he first came in about how much he'd be able to boost us toward the next level, to a mindset that - despite his faults - he'll probably get a stadium sorted out, to one where I dont believe he's capable of doing anything for us.

I dont believe in him at all.

T
16th in the table, 2 wins, 5 goals scored in 8 prem league games, -8 goal difference, lacking any quality, piss poor performances, struggling to create chances, a manager who hasn't got a clue, I think at this moment in time the team is useless, actually, a shambles would be a better description mate.
I mean the players are not useless. We have some excellent first team players and excellent youth. Clearly having Niasse as the only vaguely experienced striker is a fatal flaw. Koeman isn't any good either.

Things aren't good at the moment, let's hope the manager is shown the door sooner rather than later so we can get someone in to steady the ship before January. This is a poor league outside the top 6 though, and we have some very talented players in the squad, despite the way you are trying to dress it up.

The squad is no where near the late 90's, the problem is the striker situation which can be put right in January. I still believe that with the right manager making sensible decisions, we can still achieve a 7th placed finish.

That is what I think we can achieve with the right decisions from the board though and like you, I am concerned that they will give him way more time than he deserves and the results won't improve.

It's baffling how the board don't act I mean better managers than Koeman have been sacked than him like Ranieri for example

Naively, probably, but I've not given up hope yet, although I found his recent statement about expected defeats infuriating. I'd feel a lot happier about him if he took decisive action over Koeman. I simply don't see how he can look at the results and performances and think there's anything better to come from this manager.

I honestly believe kenwright is STILL in control.

its becoming abundantly clear that this was part of the initial deal.

The mosh comes in with 80m, wipes the debt to stabilize the club and choose HIS own manager. he will be free to recoup cash thro player sales and tv revenues and the club will still 'owe' him the 80m.

Everything else remains as is.

so with that being said, and the previous decade of absolute failings, we are nowhere further forward than we ever were.

and so it continues...

even a change of manager will have kenwright involved.

  • Worst team in a generation
  • Worst football in a generation
  • Worst manager in a generation
  • Our best player hounded out to the margins of the club
  • Good young players going backwards in their development
  • Players embarrassing the club on the pitch in front of the whole of the continent
  • Biggest transfer war-chest in the club's history flushed down the toilet
  • Ineffective leadership off the pitch from the club chairman, CEO and owner
  • Stadium situation looking less than green for go
We've stepped back in a time machine and this is the late 90s again.

I'd be nearly 20 years younger. I wish.

I think Koeman would too. Maybe he's hoping he'll walk?
