Why does anyone take what sky (or any sports pundit) say at face value?
It is far more likely that this is untrue than Napoli being that incompetent.

Sky could've completely fabricated this reason.
Napoli could've used this as an excuse to pull out of the deal.

But one thing is certain... plenty of people clicked and read the story about Napoli not knowing that one of their targets was cupped tie - so sky are happy.

The proposed loan deal for Everton's Davy Klaassen to move to Napoli looks increasingly unlikely as the 24-year-old former Ajax captain - signed in a £24m summer deal by former manager Ronald Koeman - is in no rush to quit Goodison Park and switch to Serie A.

Everton are willing to offload the Netherlands midfield man and were happy to do the loan deal with Napoli after his struggles this season but at this stage - with hours left in the window - Klaassen is reluctant to leave.
