Oops!!. In which case I agree with you.I never said extend his contract? I said see out.
In my defence I had just woken up.

In a few thousand years when apes have taken over the planet, a group of humans from a colony on Mars will crashland in Liverpool and uncover a statue of Sam Allardyce sticking out of the ground holding an earpiece aloft, maybe.if he cam make Holgate keane and mori good central defenders, he has done a very good job, if he can make martina Williams and klassen good players build a statue of him.
This seems about rightFor me
Extremely unacceptable - Bottom half finish. Should be sacked immediately in the summer if this happens.
Unacceptable - Failure to challenge for 7th position. If we finished 8th and a point or two behind 7th, this may be ok given our horrible start to the season. A 9th or 10th placed finish should result in him losing his job in the summer.
Acceptable - 7th or a strong challenge for 7th but ultimately losing out and finishing 8th. Consider options in summer and see who could be brought in to push us on with a bit of cash invested in the squad and deadwood cleared out.
Extremely acceptable - Top 6 finish. If he can somehow achieve that he should be given an extra year on his contract until end of 2019/20 season.
Of course if we're flirting with the relegation zone come end of January you'd need to ask question as to whether he'd be able to keep us up, given that we could potentially be eight points clear tonight and have a favourable fixture at the weekend.
I would be calm with him taking a second season if we finish top half. A full transfer window and a preseason would let him stamp some authority. For me

I’m glad Lewis’s window isn’t available cos that where my backside would be if we finish 7th. Bar being set a little too high by the naysayers in my opinion. Anyway hope the man causes a few to choke
So if Sam was here from the beginning of the season you would be expecting us to be challenging City I dare say. The man is doing fine and anything above 18th will do me. As it is he will likely far exceed my expectations7th is our aim for the season in the league imo. I know we were miles behind, but teams like burnley and watford won't keep it up all season. We finished 15 points ahead of 8th last season and that was soton who will be battling relegation this season, so regardless of how far away we were, 7th is definitely still get-table and should be expected. We're going to get nowhere with ambition if we think top half is our aim because of 8 or 9 bad games.
What? A man pulls us up by the bootstraps and you want to sack him for not taking it further? At this point anything below 8th should be a firing, as we are only a few points out of that spot. While 7th still is a little ways, the reality is we are also only 9 points from 4th. One of those 4 teams in 4-7 right now are going to falter between now and the rest of the season, so if hes doing a good job managing along with new players in January, I still think 7th is a realistic goal and maybe gets him another look.
