'They were worried about the plans for the Premier league too and that didn't turn out too badly. - utter tosh. The Premier league was the worst thing to happen to football in its history IMHO. Its stagnated football and created a tedious stratification that is against the very essence of sporting competition and turned the game into a means of a few men collecting money from the masses.
This. The creation of the Premier League has caused the unequal mess that now exists. Now who comes along to “fix” it?
The gross inequality in football needs attention, but not by ensuring that the last vestiges of competition in the top division are destroyed by ensuring that the obscenely rich get even richer.

Some journalists reporting that Parry has been stalling on a number of EFL rescue plans from the Premier League over the past couple of weeks. Presumably no additional huge tv riches for Utd / RS involved. Now we know why.
Acting earlier might have saved Macclesfield? Nah, sooner the Uber rich get some more to splurge on Pogba et al.

Never thought I’d be posting a Martin Samuel piece in the Mail, but he is spot on here:

Conn should be ashamed of himself

The final nail in the Premier League coffin for me. In a nutshell the owners of global brand football teams want to protect their investment. No real chance of relegation, no chance for Saudi Oil bllionaires to turn teams like Newcastle into contenders, no chance for teams like Burnley or Brighton to increase their global exposure etc etc.

Sickening
The mancs and weasel RS blackmailing the football league with the help of Rick parry. This is all to leverage more power while killing off any competition. All with the long term plan to kill off the premiere league and jump ship to a euro super League.
Two teams that got gubbed 6-1 and 7-2.
Elitism...
FC Socialist at the forefront of money grabbing *shocked emoji
These plus arrogance beyond belief.

The funny/sad thing about this proposal is that it grants a group of teams complete power to keep everyone else at arms length by blocking any takeover that might pose a challenge to them, yet Man City, who simply bought their way into the upper echelon get to be a part of that power structure and Leicester City who actually got there through true team building get locked out entirely. Ridiculous.

Leicester City drove a coach & horses through the financial fair play rules when they made a £21m loss in their 2013-14 season. They paid a multi-million pound settlement to the Football League.
