He's a rat and hopefully the EFL clubs vote to kick him out.

this is worst part - they wont & probably cant at the moment.

Giving them an extra few quid now; but pulling the ladder up while they mortals feed on their scraps. Sad and unfortunate thing is the EFL are starving for scraps

There are some positives to this. I think it's hard to argue against giving a bigger share of PL money to the EPL being a better idea than parachute payments.

But the rest is a power grab. Concentrating the power within a smaller number of clubs regardless of who they are or what happens elsewhere is a corruption. Participants of a competition should be participating on an equal footing regardless of their history, or lack of, in that competition.

Oh what a surprise, the RS bootlicker David Conn puts his oar in.

I think it's a more balanced article than the headline suggests. There are massive "power grab" flaws with the proposals as they stand but it's not entirely terrible. Eradicating club specific parachute payments in favour of a more equal distribution of PL money among the EPL isn't a bad idea.

That said, how keen would certain clubs be on that equal distribution if other demands weren't met?

You can foretell that in ten years' time that the football we now know (with all it's flaws) will seem a golden age compared to the stupefying boredom that will come to pass.

100% - it's a very strange one, I get to travel a good bit for work, usually on my own and no matter what city i'm in, the first thing I will check is the sports on in any city. As a result, i've been to the NBA, NFL, MLB, Tennis, Rugby and lost more; one thing that always strikes me about PL is the teams come out, shake hands, play match and walk off. its complete at odds with the show that all the others have become & that's one of its USP's; yes there is a lot of problems, but in the ground it remains "Just a game of football" for now.

VAR doing it's best to ruin that though

It's a power grab coated with sugar, there has to be some attraction, some colourful coating, some really attractive outer layers, how else would anyone swallow such a poisoned pill?

It's s naked power grab dressed up to look like a rescue package, it would in effect give the top six total rights to run the premier league, appoint the leading administrators and change the rules or format.

Crucially it needs only six of the nine clubs to pass anything so having nine is just window dressing to make it more palatable.

The comments say it all.

This is just a window into the abhorrent rotten souls of the men who want to remanufacture football from a sport into an investment vehicle that can reap money from the unthinking TV herd.

Two things specifically though from his interview - the government are worried at the proposal - I hate myself for having found myself agreeing with that cesspool of a government.
'They were worried about the plans for the Premier league too and that didn't turn out too badly. - utter tosh. The Premier league was the worst thing to happen to football in its history IMHO. Its stagnated football and created a tedious stratification that is against the very essence of sporting competition and turned the game into a means of a few men collecting money from the masses.

I hope Rick Parry gets an ingrowing toenail and when he turns it over may he never find his pillow cool.

It's not an offer its a bribe, pure and simple, the EPL funding part will come from the other 14 clubs, while the top 6 will get richer and richer.
