Ah, my old mate Dave Smallman, we both went to Deeside Senior High and in the evenings we would practice for hours on the old Shotton Steelworks sports grounds back in the late 60’s. Only when I moved further west did we lose touch. I was made up when he signed for Wrexham, and couldn’t quite believe it when EFC came calling. What a left peg he had. I’d usually call at his house first, mainly so I could bump into his sister, christ she was fit.

If I remember rightly there was him,Gary Jones and John Connolly all ahowing promise at the time and all three picked up bad injuries and never made an impact

Disagree. Proper goal poacher in the box for us, god knows it’s what we’re desperate for atm. Lineker was always going to be a hard act to follow, but TC did well for us.
