Players you got it totally wrong about

I'd agree with that, never rated him for at least a year. Remember his debut at Stoke when he looked scared of the ball. Castillo made his debut the same day and looked a much better player

Mate of mine said Fellaini looked and played like Bambi on ice at first.....and he did. Bit of a turnaround since then!

on the verge of selling him weren't we. a few of that 84/5 got stick at some point before it all clicked from what I remember but definitely Ratcliffe could have left and not one fan I knew would have blinked an eye

Can't remember the opposition, but one game didn't he run the length of the pitch to nut one of their defenders who had scythed down one of our forwards, near the corner flag?

An old shout this...the younger ones on here might need to go onto Google images to see what he looked like ( and it ain't good!)

Alan Biley - came with a decent slotting record. Abject flop for us.

don't remember the ratcliffe incident but wish I had seen it. he was our only player with a bit of nastiness in him I thought through the glory years but somehow managed to get away with it. I remember Alan Biley and first time I heard the chicken with no head phrase. there was Alan Ainscow around that time too. didn't he come with a massive rep?

Not me but I do remember PAt Nevin Saying McFadden was as good as Ronaldo! In fact he may have even said he was better.

Richard Gough - signed for us when he was 72 or something but still looked superb. Just wish we had got him earlier.

Nevin said that? I loved Pat and would have totally trusted him. imagine the disappointment. did he mean the Brazilian Ronaldo or Cristiano? not that he was as good as either

nothing to do with Everton but does anyone remember when United got Pallister and Liverpool got Hysen. they were all completely convinced United had screwed up and Hysen was ten times better.

yeah some rousing stuff. talking about players you were wrong about though my uncle used to go watch the team at all levels and he went on and on about John Ebbrell since he saw him as a kid. he was convinced he would end up captain of England and was usually a good judge. I was watching him with that in mind for a long time and under Joe Royle looked like he would end up a bit decent. maybe he would have gone onto better things if he had made the fa cup final, but think we got it wrong that time
Think it was John Ebbrell who finished F++k off McMahon at the Pit,went off on a stretcher, never played again.

Remember when we got that Chinese guy Le Ti (spelling) thought if he could make it,
We would sell Billions of shirts in China, how wrong can you be .
Think he scored one goal in a friendly at Rangers

two Chinese players I think. can't even guess what happened to the other lad. don't remember him on the pitch. Li Tie looked quite tidy at times but was burdened with representing the whole of China as we were told he was the biggest superstar there. not sure he would have made it either way

Ye,think it was buy one get one free, guy called Weng(spelling)had about ten minutes I think he only came for the company
To Le Tie.

think he was quite classy in an unfussy way, but if you come labelled as the biggest superstar in Asia then suppose people less likely to accept you being a useful player
