That is true. In fact, despite being an avid moyes supporter throughout his reign, there was one occasion (after losing 4 nil at home to bolton... shocking stuff) when I briefly lost faith and I proclaimed that big Joe Royle should be the man to replace moyesey. Always thought Royle's stint was cut far too short.

dogs of war tag prob unfairly ruined his reputation. actually thought we played decent football considering what was available

hahah lovely stuff, I just meant coz it rhymes with mine

Ha ok. Nice one! However, I now feel i have unneccessarily revealed far too much about my belly issues! Ah **** it, I'm goin downstairs to make myself a bowl of sugar puffs.

One of the biggest change arounds at Everton was the Rat ,when he first got into the team as full back he took terrible stick but ended up the most successful captain in the clubs history.

Yeah I agree, but the team wasn't that bad really. With limpar and kanchelskis on either wing, we had some cracking talent.
yeah some rousing stuff. talking about players you were wrong about though my uncle used to go watch the team at all levels and he went on and on about John Ebbrell since he saw him as a kid. he was convinced he would end up captain of England and was usually a good judge. I was watching him with that in mind for a long time and under Joe Royle looked like he would end up a bit decent. maybe he would have gone onto better things if he had made the fa cup final, but think we got it wrong that time

on the verge of selling him weren't we. a few of that 84/5 got stick at some point before it all clicked from what I remember but definitely Ratcliffe could have left and not one fan I knew would have blinked an eye

I was fuming when Moyes signed Neville, he turns out to be a good player in the end then I went back to fuming a the end of his career.

Same here.

I came to despise him after Wigan but up to that point he thought he was an exemplary Evertonian,

Always remember being on holiday with my dad in 1992, and we read in the paper that we'd just signed Paul Rideout.

"We'll win nothing signing rubbish like him" was my dad's retort, which remains rather amusing in hindsight.

haha, i hope every time he shares an opinion you bring it up. every single time, would be boss.

"Tbh i think ..."

"Hey dad, do you remember that time when you said we wouldn't win anything with paul rideout"

Baines. Was annoyed that we bought him, especially at the price we bought him, and never thought he could make it because I was enamoured with Lescott. As soon as I saw the brilliance of the Lescott-Jagielka partnership however, I was willing to give him a chance, and from then on my appreciation has blossomed into full blown love. Love Bainsey, how can't you?

I always thought he was rubbish for us! Well not rubbish thats harsh, he played well generally but there was zero end product. He missed so many chances when through on goal and seemed to be good at winning us throw ins. Which was rubbish as we couldnt seem to take throw ins at all back then.

We can't now! Me and my dad always say, we're f**king terrible at them. Maybe Bobby will sort that out.

I was wrong about Tim Howard.

he's ****. I never ever wanted him. Remember groaning the day the loan was made permenant.

I was possibly spoilt by Martyn who even at 39/40 was top, top notch. I kept hoping he'd return from injury but he just retired. Shame, he had years left.

Baines, at first I just didn't understand what he brought to the team. Then I realised he's the best left back in the whole world, and I absolutely love him. Fellaini can leave, however much I love the lad, but Baines is here forever.
