Better than I thought: Coleman, Kevin Campbell, Gibson, Parkinson, Pienaar (first time), Graveson, Carsley, Carl Tyler, Weir, Stubbs, Earl Barrett, Hutchinson

Let downs: Bilic, Collins, Amo, Richard Wright, Madar, Radzinski, Simonsen, Barmby, Stephen Hughes

As gash as I thought they would be: Mitch Ward, Tony Thomas, John O Kane, JOhn Oster, Gareth Farrelly, Ginola, John Spencer, Mark Hughes, Brett Angell.....

to be fair i hate the little **** for how he left etc but h played the best footy of his career for us by miles

for the oldies... Alan Harper. came at same time as Sheedy from the rs I think. for a long time it seemed like he was the worst right back on the planet and maybe we had been forced to take him or the Sheedy deal wouldn't happen. he had to play in centre mid as emergency a season or so into signing him. suddenly looked class and a brilliant option in reserve for a couple of positions.

I always thought he was rubbish for us! Well not rubbish thats harsh, he played well generally but there was zero end product. He missed so many chances when through on goal and seemed to be good at winning us throw ins. Which was rubbish as we couldnt seem to take throw ins at all back then.

I was apathetic about GIbson but he's turned out very well. I thought Dan Gosling was going to be a good player but I think that was more out of hope than anything.

Lee Carsley. Signed right at the end of Walter Smith era having been relegated with Derby, Blackburn and Coventry.

What a hero he became!

If there's one thing this thread has shown us all, it's that Moyes certainly could get the very best out of players we all originally thought were total muck. Oh well, he's gone now.... Viva Martinez!!!

In response to the original question, biggest let down for me had to be shandy van der meyde. Thought after seeing him do one quick dashing run against Birmingham (in his debut i think) that he was going to be worthy of multiple shameful wanks for years to come (excuse the incidental pun). Unfortunately, his utter crapness poisoned me with chronic erectile dysfunction.

Thank jaysis for the arrival of Seamus Coleman!

nice username

The irony of it is that when I first came up with it a few years ago, I was trim, fit and essentially the anti-fat. Now, possibly cursed by such a username, I watch my belly expand outwards on a daily basis at what seems to be an exponentially increasing rate.

Either that or Ive actually been a woman all along with some sort paeudo penis vagina combo and there is in fact a small foetus growing inside me as we speak.

agree about Moyes but it also proves Joe Royle could spot 'em and get them playing too.

hahah lovely stuff, I just meant coz it rhymes with mine

not sure whether Marco Matterazi should come into the reckoning here because I really liked him. could see he just wasn't going to make it with us and didn't really object to him leaving, but he was obviously a class act. tried to argue this with couple blues in work but they still wouldn't have it even after he had added a world cup winners medal to god knows how many domestic European honours.
