Thought Jelavic was going to be the answer to all our prayers upfront ! But .................................... Maybe still time to prove that is the case?????????????

Victor Anichebe - I used to hate hearing his name on the team sheet and was always convinced he was a Championship player. I was fuming when he started against Liverpool at anfield when they beat us 3-0. Absolutely fuming. He had a good season this year and I think he started to prove me wrong.

Bilyaletdinov - watched some of his games in Russia before he signed and thought we were signing an unbelievable attacking midfielder who could slot in behind the striker. How good was he in the Europa cup game? Didn't get enough games in my opinion and couldn't adapt to the league. Not a bad player with potential but never got to see him excel.

Billy was just too slow for the premiership.

Marcus Bent. Signing him and then selling Rooney had me throwing the towel in and accepting we would go down that season. I hold him in similar esteem as Kevin Campbell in regards to someone who gave their all when little was expected.

Kevin Kilbane was another player who impressed me when I expected little.

Nyarko has too be the biggest disappointment. He looked amazing in the pre season and I honestly thought we had a potential Viera on our hands. Perhaps under the right management he may have fulfilled his potential but he was an absolute disaster. Alexandersson was also a major let down.

Pienaar
I remember when we got him we had just been ****ed off by Manny Fernandes who made an U-turn and signed for Valencia. I remember I thought Pienaar was a poor consolation price and far too small to make it in the league. It wasn´t until one instant, at Goodison when he stopped on the edge of the box at the Gwladys street end and the opposing fullback almost fell over because he couldn´t live with the change of pace, that I changed my mind.

Nigel Martyn brought more and for much longer than I expected.

McFadden - excited me at first. Just frustrated me after that.

Neville was the main one - didn't want him to join but he turned into a club stalwart and an absolute rock (don't think about last season too much).

Was made up when Bilic signed and look what happened.

I always think it is great when we sign players that you rate and would have tried to buy if you were Everton manager.
The biggest one for me was Lescott. I had always rated him and was thrilled when we signed him. You could see what a class player he was when he first played for Wolves. I though Tim Cahill would prove to be excellent too. Don Hutchison was a player I was pleased to see join too as he was always a very talented player, just a bit of an idiot when he ws younger.

Of the current potential targets I was made up and then devestated when we approached and then failed to sign Fer. I think he would be excellent for us. Callum Mcmanaman is another. Not had much time at the top level and I understand people thinking he is a flash in the pan, but he appears self confident and I think would give his all for his boyhood club. Would certainly show no fear at Anfield, something we have lacked recently.

Barry Horne, I always fumed about him when he was picked at first.

Ability wise he was poor, but he gave it his all, and that goal against Wimbledon is still the greatest moment of me following Everton. All I ever ask for our players is to give it 100% percent. He certainly done it for us. Same for Gary Abblett, was disappointed we signed him but he soon won me over with his performances.

I was quite young but after watching him destroy teams in the world cup I thought Daniel Amokachi was going to be an amazing goal machine.
In short, he wasn't.

AMO, AMO, AMO!

Naismith, saw him against the O's and thought he was better than Mirallas.

Mark Pembridge, I used to think he was awful, and then he was out injured and we really missed him
Never seem to do anything outstanding but his work rate was second to none
