I said Fellaini was boss from start, thought Coleman should play right back and Arteta in the centre, in short no one

In all seriousness though, I thought Distin was grim when we signed him, still dont totally trust him in some situations, but hes been great value

In terms of talent and skill though van der Meyde was an absolute beast. If he´d been right in the head he´d been a fantastic footballer for any side.

I've always thought Distin was class - playing in Citeh's team pre-Arabs he stood out a mile as an accomplished player. That was an outrageous transfer for us - net result of swapping two players of similar ability and trousering 15 million difference. Distin was a better player than Lescott in his prime IMHO, but obv being younger you would probably say Lescott had the edge at the time of the transfer.

Would have been nice to have gotten value from that remaining 15 mill, but failure thy name is Bily.

Poor Bily. He looked like he was stuck in 2nd gear when everyone else was in 4th gear. Scored 3 belters that I can think of though. Wasn't he recommended to Moyes by Hiddink or some other top manager who knew the Russian game? At the time I thought "can't go wrong there then". And then we saw him play......

He was Shoite to be honest,I can remember Bainsy going past him and completely ignoring him
He looked really lost, everyone seemed to love him but I think it was one big mistake by Moyes buying him IMO

From memory the only one I have been totally wrong about was fellaini. The first season and a half I thought there was no way he could play cm In the premier league.

Seem to remember After Moyes bought Leighton he wouldn't play him,
Said something about him being too small for a fullback, am I right ?

danny cadamarteri, I really generally thought he was going to be the real deal, he was so direct and positive, defenders craped them selfs when he ran at them, and he was a decant finisher as well, really thought we had a super star

still believe he had the talent to make it. off the field stuff that blew it for him. maybe coming through now he would get more advice or whatever from the club. who knows

Danny had a few off field problems, perhaps too much too soon, pity really ,makes you wonder if he had the right guidance,
Franny was another who had it all and just fell away.

sh*t remember saying to a mate that Jeffers would see us back at the top. wasn't alone in thinking that though. if he had stayed a few more years? or you think his attitude made it inevitable that ability was gonna be wasted

Ye I put a quite a bit of blame on the Agents when this sort of thing happens, gamble with a kid's future for a quick return,
Greedy bas+++s

Was a bit worried about Distin. We signed an ageing player who when i watched him play, always made mistakes, for £6m.
I now love the bloke!
