On fire Howard better than Pickford, Dead weight Howard worse than Pickford. Hard to judge Pickford on one season even though he won all three player awards last year - likely because all the outfield players were naff.

I think some peoples perception of Howard is tainted by his last few seasons here.
In his prime, he was a quality ‘keeper.
I think Pickford has the potential to be much better, though.
His distribution and command of his area already surpasses Howard imo.
If he can get his shot-stopping to the same level as peak Howard, he’ll be an absolute monster between the sticks!

We had far better quality players in the team at the then a Howard in my opinion.
