But Schofield doesn't read out headlines? He chats with people on a talkshow? Why would he talk differently during continous chat for hours on TV? He's not playing a character.

When presenting a talkshow he'd be doing it with viewers in mind. He's talking to someone but also presenting that conversation to a third party. It can look naturalistic but it's far from it. In the same way that when they've talked about it in private Holly Willoughby probably didn't use that particular tone or way of framing questions.

Not sure his voice sounded that much different anyway but when talking on a personal matter it's obviously going to veer away from the usual "Presenter" tone.
