2017/18 Phil Jagielka

Thought Jags was decent. No disrespect to the man though, and he's been a great servant to the club, but I'd like to think this was his last Merseyside derby.

Maybe he'll be in the Sheffield derby next season.

All that may be true, however arguably across this season he's been one of - if not the best - of our central defenders alongside Holgate.

Wouldn't argue with that mate, but my analogy would be it's like saying a guy with polio manages to win a race against a set of other lads with one leg a piece.

Mori - been injured - and let's face it was pretty dire when fully fit
Williams - most shocking 'decline' on a player i can remember, added bonus of acting like a complete bell with his on pitch attitude
Keane - 100% certain that had he been signed under Moyes he would have been given the Kroldrup treatment, never seen a lad his size in that position whose so absolutely gutless and lacking in any self belief/courage

Holgate - looks brilliant in comparison to those 3, Jags has basically looked the best cb purely because the lad at least seems to try - even with his limitations, and actually once knew how to defend.

Reality is he probably has no more left than Terry does or Ferdinand when at QPR - and 'should be' seeing the last 2 years of his career out at a championship level, scary thing is as you say he is currently maybe the best cb we have.

That shows just how much we need to buy effectively 3/4 of a new defence this summer

Starting to have a strong dislike for Jagielka now.

We want better, don’t you understand this?! How dare you say it’s the louder ones. The vast majority, loud or not, want him gone.

Get out the club, Phil. Your time is long up and you’ve been a big part of our bottling problem over the years, too.

Allardyce stays: he gets a start. Allardyce replaced: he faces a punt down the road. Ditto Baines, Rooney, Williams etc. Same with the *coaches* like Ferguson and Jeffers.

The last thing these people want is for Everton to move on. They'll be left behind if we do. Why would they want that?

Said it in the match thread yesterday but really hope that was his last game at goodison for us and this his last season, been a good player for us but at 35 and having been gash for the last few seasons he shouldn't be getting game time at a club with our supposed aspirations, been fortunate to be playing next to them donkeys Williams and Keane so has been the best of a bad bunch but gash none the less. Most importantly it's his sort of character we need ridding from our club, meek, feeble, defeatist wet flannel

Give Coleman the armband on your way out
