What a horrible thing to say. I hope you feel ashamed.
Yeah, but I can't edit it, so can the mods delete it, please?

Seriously though, a lot of the Jags hate on here is weird and personal. Same with a lot of players. It's making me wonder if this is the right place for me. I'm growing increasingly detached from Everton though.

No, you people have this weird obsessive hatred for Jags. You act like he personally is responsible for ruining the club. Then again, this is the same forum where people have wished death on Barkley and Rom, so I shouldn't be surprised.

????

Did it? We're usually pretty quick to crush that sort of behaviour.

Think you've gone a bit wayward here mate

Why the hatred for Jags? Really don't get it. Gives his all and always has done. Of course he has declined with age, but everyone does. Captain or not, he is an Everton legend. Some reasons why

- He was a key member of our best ever Premier League era defence
- He got us to an FA Cup final (which he didn't get to play in due to doing his cruciate)
- He scored a screamer against the RS in the last minute
- He showed the desire to run the length of the pitch to set up the equaliser against the RS this season
- He is the only Everton player to captain England (I.e. Whilst actually playing for Everton)
- He has more England caps as an Everton player than anyone else in our entire history.

(Just stop and think about those last two)

So I know we have had a terrible season and I know that no one has covered themselves in any sort of glory, but it isn't Jag's fault. He is still one our more committed players and that counts for at least something (Schneiderlin, Williams take note).

He deserves to be in our squad for his final contracted year - he has probably been our best CB this year (not saying a lot I know).

Let's see which CBs we bring in during the summer for him to mentor and then let's give him the send off he deserves when his contract runs out next season.

A prime Jagielka was an excellent player for us and was a part of some seriously good back fours under Moyes and Martinez's first season. He was never a leader of men though, he isn't vocal and the he's been part of a club for many years now that has had a seriously poor attitude when it came to big games. I'll always rate him as a player though but I hope he bows out this season. I'd hate to see him go the Howard route and completely outstay his welcome.
