With the rose tinted glasses of history this looks an illustrious list bar a few odd ones. I would say Jags fits on the list. Of course this isnt the players who have captained the team on the field which this season alone is a frightening group.
I would suggest there is a wide gulf between crap and statue meriting and people need to think about players on that performance spectrum not just crap or great.

Great performance today from jagielka imo, wins so many headers, tackles and interceptions still even at 36. All that money and he's still our best defender.

Yeah, but I can't edit it, so can the mods delete it, please?

Seriously though, a lot of the Jags hate on here is weird and personal. Same with a lot of players. It's making me wonder if this is the right place for me. I'm growing increasingly detached from Everton though.

Writing disgraceful comments like that I’d say it’s definitely not the place for you. Shameful.

Wow I know my memory is goosed nowadays but I didn’t remember Dave Watson playing for us after 98 . I can’t remember him playing under Walter smith .

Love jags, however the PL and modern footy has caught up on him.
He was an amazing defender not great at passing the ball out and he never claimed to be.
He was always missed when not there.
A true servant.
