Oh dear, Feel a bit of a nob now, so you should. Put your brain into gear before you type.I bet if Jags did a Gary Speed, you'd all be happy.
Yeah, but I can't edit it, so can the mods delete it, please?
Seriously though, a lot of the Jags hate on here is weird and personal. Same with a lot of players. It's making me wonder if this is the right place for me. I'm growing increasingly detached from Everton though.
Wow I know my memory is goosed nowadays but I didn’t remember Dave Watson playing for us after 98 . I can’t remember him playing under Walter smith .Here’s the list of Club Captains at Everton since I started watching them
Brian Labone 1965 - 1970
Alan Ball 1970 - 1971
Howard Kendall 1972 - 1974
Roger Kenyon 1974 - 1976
Mick Lyons 1976 - 1982
Billy Wright 1982
Mark Higgins 1983 - 1984
Kevin Ratcliffe 1984 - 1991
Dave Watson 1992 - 1997
Gary Speed 1997 - 1998
Dave Watson 1998 - 2001
Kevin Campbell 2001 - 2002
Duncan Ferguson 2002 – 2004
Alan Stubbs 2004 - 2005
David Weir 2005 – 2006
Phil Neville 2007 - 2013
Phil Jagielka
2013 -
With the rose tinted glasses of history this looks an illustrious list bar a few odd ones. I would say Jags fits on the list. Of course this isnt the players who have captained the team on the field which this season alone is a frightening group.
I would suggest there is a wide gulf between crap and statue meriting and people need to think about players on that performance spectrum not just crap or great.
She’s made a mistake with the post lay off now lads .Mods, can you delete it please? I'm logging out. I regret that post.
