Petition to give Tim Cahill a fully deserved testimonial match

he will be back as a guest when MLS goes on a break. The fans will get a chance to applaud him on the pitch. No need for a testimonial.

Good idea. Not sure it'll happen. I'm hoping he'll make a guest appearance as an "old boy" at Hibbos testimonial

I'm old-fashioned and think a testimonial should be for a minimum of 10 years' service. Benefit matches are different, i.e. for players like David Busst who suffer career-ending injuries.

So, for me, the only option would be to play a friendly against NYRB - and being selfish, I hope its over there! But in terms of the Everton family saying cheerio to the little Ozzie maestro, it's got to be at The Grand Old Lady. Next summer. Lovely stuff.

He didn't play ten years. When you start making exceptions you set a precedent.

Let's swerve the twitter feel good about ourselves campaigns and stick to testimonials being for ten f*cking years.

Lads eh lads?

Who p!ssed in your Cornflakes mate?

Is the correct answer.

He has been a fantastic servant of the club, as has been said many times "he get's it," but lets just think about how much he's earned in the Blue shirt ?

Does he NEED a testimonial ? If it were a charideeee game against the rb's for one of his good causes maybe, but not to give him another payday.

People being a bit too over emotional here.

i get both sides of the argument here, no to a testimonial because he doesnt need the money, but yes to a freindly with RB with the money going to charity and a chance to wave him off.

You couldn't wait for him to do one up until 36 hours ago.

I agree. One of my all time favourite players but every player comes to an end some time.

I love him but he's gash.

Barkley needs to come in for him.

Its criminal how long he's been allowed to go without making any impact - never mind a goal.

He's been a liability for far too long.

He's done....until he scores a last minute winner against a tired team and waltz' back into the side.

I'd almost advocate selling him in January if someone were to take him for a decent price.

Geez...what has the world come to?

So some of those that are saying and signing that he should have a testimonial haven't really worshipped every step he's taken in the last couple of seasons.

I'm sorry but I stand by everything I've said.

Right now footballing wise he is pretty gash. It was the right time to go because of that, as we have better options and can't justify his wages on a rotation option. That doesn't diminish what he's done for the club, what his ability used to be like or how I see him.

I hove Tim Cahill, been one of our best players over the lad 10 years. And will be in the hall of fame one day....

But please, please don't say he's one of our best players ever......

Its just embarrassing.

I'd say David Moyes is our greatest ever manager, he's done brilliantly to keep an established Premier League team in the Premier League xx
