No they didn't. Upon signing Saha said he would have forfeited any wages owed to him during time spent recovering from injury, such was his desire to sign for the club. The club then said that though they appreciated the sentiment they were happy to offer Saha normal terms.Because the club and Saha both said it was PAYP aggreement, maybe?

The phrase 'pay-as-you-play' was used alot around the time he signed for us but that was referring to the fee we paid Man Utd for him, which was in installments contingent on him making a certain number of appearances up to a maximum of £2m.
Saucey...
Correctamundo.......or correnctamundinho if you prefer....
Saha made that statement -- I don't know if he believed that to be a genuine offer to the club BUT it's banned by the FA.
On top of that there are some players such as Redondo and Onyewu (I think) who have signed contracts to pay for minimum wage in the past....However that was never the case with Saha and has yet to be done in the premier league.
This hasn't actually been in a paper or rumoured, but I saw this lads been let go by Man Utd, presumably because of his injury problems, which admittedly are very bad and extended, BUT when he's fit I won't apologise for suggesting that he's possibly one of the world's finest midfield players, So the question is would he be worth taking the risk on on say a pay as you play contract?, yes would be my opinion.
