It's not a petty minded thing to question though, is it? Perhaps a poorly worded and provocative post, but not the wrong question to ask.
The killing of George Floyd created international news, global protests / riots. The wide-spread impact was huge. Locally, in the UK we had the BLM movement, protests, kneeling...
I've watched the footage of both incidents - George Floyd and Tyre Nicols. As bad as what happened to Floyd was, the killing of Nicols was far, far worse. His death wan't a restraint gone wrong, he was beaten to death.
It's not unreasonable to question why reactions may differ. And the MSM stir things up and manipulate opinion, for profit...
"**checks officers involved skin colour**"
Abuses of power are not confined by skin colour.
Questions to ask, hmmm, questions.... hmmm....
What were 5 trained individuals entrusted with the law and the care of society thinking knowing they were all wearing cameras when they decided to set upon a lone individual and heinously break the law to the extent of causing death?
Questions....
Any breaches of behaviour for any of the five previous? Any instances off camera?
are all five good pals???? regulars out on the beat? reliable? always get a collar no matter what? Who trained them? Who assessed them? How often were they checked for work induced stress? Any unusual habits like far right leanings or criminal activity out of uniform?
Questions.... hmmm.... They've been cut loose quickly haven't they? no procedure, no investigation, sacked just like that! Turns out two other officers involved after the murder have been removed from duty since.... I wonder, what their involvement was/wasn't and why they've had to be taken out of policing.
Was there a report of criminality? "shots fired" from "that make and colour of car", were the 5 frightened out of their minds having been sent into a reported gun battle? something like that, who is responsible? hoaxes are a crime after all.
Very interesting you consider this case "far far worse", why is that? I see death inflicted in both cases. By a force trained and paid and insured and expected to not only know better but to do better. I don't consider Floyd's death a restraint gone wrong either, choking someone to death isn't a restraint in my book.
The states have tried and executed 'cop killers' previously and made a song and dance about it along the way. lets see 'killer cops' dealt with similar by the exact same law. Ordinarily I'd put I wont be holding my breath, but it seems crass and inappropriate so something pithy like, 'it'll be business as usual again in no time'....
