Misty Velvet Dawn Spann was 25 years old when she married her mother Patricia Spann, 42, in Sept. 2016, according to Oklahoma District Court records. Misty now faces a 10-year deferred sentence after pleading guilty to that incestual marriage, according to CBS affiliate KOTV in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The marriage was annulled six weeks later in the city of Duncan.

Records show that the mother lost custody of her children -- who were adopted -- when they were little. KOTV writes that Patricia told investigators she and Misty "hit it off" when they were reconnected in 2014.

Records also state that Patricia thought the marriage was legal because her name was no longer on Misty's birth certificate.

KOTV points out that Patricia married her biological son in 2008, but that was annulled in 2010 after he called it "incestuous."

There is a trial set in January for Patricia. She's charged with incest.

In a previous life, I taught US History to HS juniors. On day 1, I passed out maps of the US with all the states outlined, along with a list of the 50 states. Their task was to fill the state names in the map. Each day, less than perfect maps were graded and returned, along with a fresh blank map. This continued until everyone got a perfect score, and was repeated as part of the final exam. Some of those students still thank me for this.

It isn't rocket science. This map is actually better than I would have expected.

They all seem to know where Mexico is...

US map is no problem, but I have to admit, it takes me a while to get all the countries of the former Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia correctly on a map.

Yeah, I gotta say I'm shocked it's actually this close. And a lot of this was poeple joking, b/c clearly not even the most idiotic American would have selected locations within the Western Hemisphere.

Seeking to prove that a conspiracy of astronauts fabricated the shape of the Earth, a California man intends to launch himself 1,800 feet high on Saturday in a rocket he built from scrap metal.

Assuming the 500-mph, mile-long flight through the Mojave Desert does not kill him, Mike Hughes told the Associated Press, his journey into the atmosflat will mark the first phase of his ambitious flat-Earth space program.

Hughes’s ultimate goal is a subsequent launch that puts him miles above the Earth, where the 61-year-old limousine driver hopes to photograph proof of the disc we all live on.

Wish I was a billionaire so I could fund him.

In my wildest fan-fiction fantasies, I could not think of something like this.

The article visited Furrydelphia, an annual convention of furries in Philadelphia that has been infiltrated by a contingent of anthropomorphic Nazis. Some of them wear armbands reminiscent of Hitler’s Third Reich regalia, while others have incorporated swastikas and racist symbols into their costumes.

Apparently a lot of the physics and maths he uses are based on a spherical earth. If he fails, he will no doubt use that as evidence the world is flat.
