Maybe, although it should be said that an awful lot of the reporting on that case is shameful - every report mentions the ethnicity of the victim but very few of them (even when photos of the cops are present) mentions the ethnicity of the five sacked cops.
Also I do have extreme doubts about sackings of this kind - its very easy for departments to do to "control the narrative" and be seen to do something but to do it so quickly, and when they'll no doubt seek to fight any wrongful death suit aimed at them?

Oh dear, it comes to something when the unreleased video of this heinous beating resulting in death has to be qualified days before to quell the reaction of the public.
I wonder how swift justice will be this time compared to the Floyd case...

They probably will all plead guilty rather than go to trial too.

I’ve just watched the videos of what they did to Tyre Nichols. I won’t link them here as they are horrendous but I think it is important for it to be out there if you can stomach watching it so you have an idea of what is going on. Those officers need to go away for life. There were five of them, they had control of the situation. And yet they beat him like a piñata. I know that is a horrible way to put it but it’s what they did. They all took their shots. He’d been tased and pepper sprayed. And now he’s dead. You could tell it would be bad given they fired them and charged them so quickly. But even knowing that it doesn’t quite prepare you for how bad it is.
Imagine what it was like before cameras.

The qualifications and training needed to be a cop anywhere in this country of 330m people are laughable.

I cant bring myself to watch.
Don’t watch if you can’t bear it and I completely understand that. No one needs those images in their head. But I do think it’s important that the videos are out there because some people will default to “he must have done something wrong” and buy the party line. It’s unbelievable what they do to him. And it’s so sad that it will be weaponised against him as if he was the problem. As I said, those officers need to go away for life.
