I ****ing hate you Kenwright. This is all your fault. You've killed the spirit of this club. Look what you've done. Most Evertonians settle for second or third best.

As a player I can't say I'm too unhappy about the announcement. Having said that I think he's been a fantastic servant to the club, a great captain in his day and a truly passionate Everton player. Unlike some who have kissed the badge and disappeared in a cloud of wonga (Not the rip off loan sharks). His sister is probably a better player than him now, and has more England caps, but Mr Neville I salute you, and thank you for your service to the cause.

No mate you don't get it...what sort of fans boo players who have done nothing but tried there best when called upon. Nobody is saying we are losing a great player he's at the end of his career. Being a Captain is about more than just how he performs on the pitch and he has been a great ambassador for the club.

Why people can't just say, thanks and good luck is beyond me. You're obviously a very hateful person judging by your spiteful responses.

Nicely put mate. He may not be everybody's favourite player, but he did what he could to move the club forward.

done a great job for our club, model pro and i know for a fact he has been a great influence on a lot of players young and old.

So, as pointed out near the start of this thread. Does this mean Moyes has started to look towards next season? Captain Philip would be one of our bigger earners
 
Good news from our point, good decision from phill as well to realize he can no longer perform at our required level. he never was the talented person in the world, but at least he gave his all. Glad he's called time now because certain toffee's like me may have ended up hating him if he went on for another couple of years of medicority for us

I suppose your right, moyes might have had a word in Nevs ear to say he's off at the end of the season. though in that case I think the captain would wait it out to try & convince the new manager he was worth a new contract and another season in the prem.
 
Model professional and worthy Everton Captain.

I hope he has some backroom role for the club going forwards.
