Anybody who played at the top level of English football for the amount of time he did, can't be all that bad.decent footballer who was well worth the transfer fee ,think we paid four million wasn't it ?.maybe went a season too far with us although not sure how many games he got.good luck in whichever path you choose.

I don't really see him as a 'servant to the club', though.

You could argue that Matt Le Tissier was a servant to Southampton because he could've played for a top side but chose not to. Very rare among players.

Neville would never have got a game for a better team than us and has been paid VERY well for doing a job.

Well said, you think he was making some massive sacrifice by playing for us the way people have gone on

Spurs were in for him when they were CL.

Can't complain about his approach to the game, but one of a number of players that Moyes has held onto long past their best.

He kept him on until he was too old to sit on the bench most weeks. The one season Neville played more than thirty league games for United was the only time they finished lower than second.

Jaap Stam and Roy Keane were right about him.

I think we saw everything we needed to regarding Keane's judgement of a player at Sunderland and Ipswich.(y)

So?

He's still poor when out on the pitch.

Any player than gets to spend 8 years playing for our club and being its captain must have something about them. He was our best RB for some time and gives his all to the club. It is right that he leaves, indeed he perhaps should have been sold to spurs, but for some on here to be dancing up and down and making references to Thatcher is an absolute disgrace. The man has earned his place in our history and deserves thanks not derision.....
