The man has spent 8 years playing and being the captain for our club.....ffs

Do you just jump on a thread, search "Tubey" and go from there?

Read the thread; I'm clearly happy that a player of his limited ability is gone - it's not about respect for the man himself.

Any player than gets to spend 8 years playing for our club and being its captain must have something about them. He was our best RB for some time and gives his all to the club. It is right that he leaves, indeed he perhaps should have been sold to spurs, but for some on here to be dancing up and down and making references to Thatcher is an absolute disgrace. The man has earned his place in our history and deserves thanks not derision.....

That's not the point.

I'm happy he's retiring now, not ****ging off his contribution in the past or attitude.

You wouldn't want George Best out there on Saturday, would you?

I sometimes do this.

 Fair enough.

People pay money to see the game. If they want to be happy that one of the most limited footballers in Evertonian living memory is finally leaving the club, then they have every right.

Respect for his ability and respect for him as a person are two entirely separate thing. For Everton on the field, this is fantastic news.

There's another post from this thread anyway - to clarify.

Moyes should take some of the blame for the stick Neville gets. He is a right back, not a center midfielder. If he'd only ever played RB for us i'm sure the comments on here would be more positive. I admit i cheered when i heard he's leaving but now i feel a bit bad about it seeing as he's a decent fella. It's probably the best for all concerned that he moves on now, cheers pip.

Glad to see him leave, he's well past his sell by date and should have moved on one or two seasons ago. Will wish him all the best and hope he goes on to do well whether its playing elsewhere or managing. Good luck Fizzer

I don't understand this.
What about Everton are you a fan of?
Is it just a crest and a colour, devoid of any context?
You would take the rat from the reds so long as he gets us victories?

Its one thing sticking to our credo 'Nil Satis', but its another acting utterly entitled.
You probably spend more time at games booing Naismith, Neville and Anichebe in the past then you do cheering, because 'How can we have settled for this...'

Spot on....

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
