Was a joke mate. You and foot long have been like a pair of dogs with something bone like in appearance

Hahaha I know, hence the pos rep and the exclamation marks.

Subtle message received too by the way - I'll pack it in ;)

Bluebottle: Oh, just to add, I think the key is like you mention - finding a way to play to his strengths. I think our switch from Cahill to Fellaini has done quite a bit of damage to his game and it'll take a while for him to re-adjust.

What is completely undeniable is that we played in a VERY different way last night without Fellaini, and in the first half it looked really encouraging. Felli is a midfielder, shoehorned into a striker role. I'd much prefer a front two of Jelavic and/or Mirallas/Anichebe.

He scored 10 goals for us in his first premier league season. What he's done since leaving us matters not a jot.

Doesnt it? Does it not suggest that we may have done good business in getting a player in for £0 and selling at what £4m. The fact that he has done next to nothing since leaving us to me suggests that maybe a flash in the pan. How old is he now as well?! 30 odd isnt he.

Anyway I think Jelavic will turn it round.

In the modern game, if you play one striker up front and they're not particularly good at actual football then you have no chance of being a top team in my opinion. It's more the kind of approach that works well for teams down the bottom that don't expect to have much of the ball.

Very little is going over the top for him to run onto when Fellaini plays. I think actually Fellaini, for all his merits, is a hinderance to our style. He has been sussed and putting him on top of the defence just means teams sit deep and make if difficult to break them down. Fellaini has a really positive effect from the middle of the park, running in later.
I believe this topic may well have been covered elsewhere though.

I don't think we actually got £4m for him, from what i remember.

I disagree. I think he has also shown this season that even though he hasnt been firing them in he has turned provider on quite a few occasions.

Time will tell Brownie.

Rising to that but dependent on appearances, goals, promotion etc.

Think the actual fee was anywhere from £1.5m to £3m but the annoying thing is that the way modern transfers work the fans never really know.

I believe the term you are looking for is undisclosed.

That was completely out of the blue. I think we all felt he'd burned a bridge with Moyes when he reacted to being subbed, but that was astounding he'd sell his top scorer and get no striker in to replace him.

He's had three 'assists' all season.

Aye, but "creative midfielder" Leon Osman has two, and he earned an England call up based on his form. He's obviously been involved positively in the approach play more often than that.

Direct assists stats are decent but they don't tell the whole story, same as goal stats.
