Rooney played most of the second half at left back today.. and still looked boss.
Defended better than Heitinga that's for sure.

i think moving felli behind him has hampered his game.

Yeah, most of the players seem to be aiming for fellaini, which really the midfielders should be getting the ball to jelevic in the box, would like to see us move fellaini back in mid and see how we get on.
Possibly the most telling comment on this game was made shortly after the final whistle when that vastly experienced follower of Dutch football and current Fulham manager Martin Jol said “I have never seen the boy Drenthe play on the right before, never!”
He's just really, really average.
Maybe this is the answer. There's a strong belief that Fellaini is better used as a holding, defensive midfielder. And let's face it, our defence has been very brittle this season, and that would help to plug the hole.
OK, we would only get Fellaini's goals at set pieces, but if it meant Jelavic getting those scoring opportunities instead it would be
a win-win.
I know that won't happen but I'd try anything to get the old Jelavic back and Moyes can't just let things drift along and hope for the best.
Fellaini holding midfielder? Take a look at who had scored the important goals this season . Without Fellaini s goal we would struggle to stay in the league. We have no goal threat from midfield: Osman and Pienaar surely have the weakest shot in the premier league. Jelavic is badly out ot confidence . Anichebe is one trick pony and does last only 50 min most of the time . Shut down Fellaini and Baines like Man U did and Everton has NO answer what so ever. Moyes could try Velios Duffy .. and co but that would need some cojones...

Jelavic is being asked to do exactly what he did last season, so to blame his poor form on Moyes asking him to press a defender when we've not got the ball is a bollocks excuse.
He's merely lacking a bit of confidence & for me he's thinking about it, rather than merely being instinctive in front of goal. He'll get it back it's just a matter of time.
He's not. He's clearly working the wide areas far more. Not acknowledging that is lunacy.
Chasing down a full back you mean? I've not noticed any difference in what he's doing in the lone striker role. What's that got to do with him fluffing his lines in front of goal anyway?

Don't mean to be rude but I'd just be typing the same thing again!
