Nikica Jelavic

Everybody goes through stretches where they aren't scoring and lets face it he was never going to keep his inital goals/game avg. (if he did he's going to Barca/Madrid).

However what I'm noticing is that he's trying too much. He's drifting out of the box and trying to make plays and we absolutely don't need that. It what drove me crazy about Saha, where we'd have 0 in the box because he's trying to be a "total footballer". Play CF, knock down balls and then just get in front of goal Jelly, its the reason why IMO you were our best player last year.

Jelavic will be OK, he is a great finisher and he works hard but, lately his movement inside the box hasn't been as sharp as last season and the fact that he is not getting enough service can't be ignored. The team needs to create chances for him, plain and simple, the same way they create chances for Fellaini.

Once we get our injured/suspended players back we'll have more balance and creativity, and I expect Jelavic to take full advantage from that.

Jelavic: "Hi guys i'm a boss striker, I thrive on balls in the box so I can dispatch them with ease and pleasure."

Moyes: "Run the channels you [Poor language removed]."

Close enough to the truth to deserve credit. We are offering poor service. First half we played some great football and Jelavic was very involved, the second half meltdown left him isolated upfront, the one excellent chance to give him a chance - which you just know he'd have buried - and Naismith skies it, the Scottish plum. I was furious at that point.
We'd have won 2-0, Jelavic would have scored, we all go home happy; instead here we are questioning the commitment and quality of a player who has been nothing but good for us. Rest of the team needs to take a look at themselves before they blame Jelavic

Good players can make things happen out of the blue but he isn't doing that recently.

He needs to make something happen soon, but the quality isn't there around him at the moment to ge tup chances for him to get on the end of.

We badly need a settled midfield, then he'll be banging them in for fun again. Fully expect him to notch a minimum of 15 league goals this campaign.

He's not spending enough time in the box and he seems to have lost half a yard since smashing his knee into the goalpost vs. IIRC, Newcastle.

If Moyes has got him working the channels then I don't know what to say, but he has reminded me of Saha a bit the last few games, as others have said.

Jelavic tried to get into a bird i work with, on Saturday night.

Her son Supports Everton, and he point blank refused to sign anything, or even talk about football.

TBF, she has an amazing rack, so I dont blame him !

Can someone explain to me how we are making more chances than any other team in Europe but Jelavic isn't getting any?

A good striker who has hit a bit of poor form in games. He's still got 5 league goals in 12 games though, so some of the criticism of him on here is completely exaggerated IMO.

Agree. It's not like he is missing chance after chance after chance.

Brilliant your bang on there.
Why moyes came into the season with 1 proper striker i will never know but its now catching up with him.
Jelavic is like pienaar, heitinga, howard and distin great players on their day but none of them seem interested.
