Nikica Jelavic

Really think people are going mental over nothing.

Play the ball to his feet. Play some through balls. Don't hoof it to him.

We did all right with that approach from January-May, so I'm not sure why we're so reluctant now. Without Fellaini in the team the aerial approach is just criminal. Jelavic isn't Fellaini -- he won't pick a 60 yard ball out of the air and turn it into a chance.

But Fellaini isn't Jelavic. He won't make a superb, defensive-splitting run and stroke the ball into the net with the finesse of a master painter.

I think with Mirallas or Osman behind Jelavic and Felli playing a box-to-box role Jelavic would bang a lot more in. Ultimately though a lone striker lives and dies by his midfield. Not just creativity-wise, but without support he becomes isolated. We got men up to support him with all the promptness of an iceberg yesterday. Regularly I'd see 5 or 6 Norwich players get back to defend before 1 or 2 other blue shirts arrived.

What i have been trying to say but obviously not so succinctly.

agree mate would go with this side for arsenal providing everyones fit:

Howard

Coleman Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Felliani Gibson

Mirallas Osman Pienaar

Jelavic

having osman behind jelly might make us play passing football rather than hoof to felli and having felli behind the defense will hopefully make us stronger at the back and gibson would allow felli to push forward when we have possession of the ball

Me too.

But Moyes is clearly jealous of the Greeks good looks. Or something.

Moyes clearly hates Vellios.

in fairness other than cameo role in front of goal last yr he hasnt done himself any favours but i doagree with he should be getting a bit more time than he has or he ll never develop

Did,nt look a "team player" to me on sat. We needed him to battle more and hold the ball up, I,d have hooked him if victor was fit for the game.

confused here, you're slating jelavic(and saying vellios should play)on one post then saying he'll come good in the next make your mind up dude

Slating him, get real lad.

Not once have I said he's a bad player, because he's not, we all know he's a boss slotter but he's defo out of form. My opinion is that Vellios deserves a crack until Jelavic finds his shooting boots, even if its 30 mins here and there.
