I understand your point is specially regarding to stadium naming rights, but I'm confident that Chang will definitely not be an option soon.

It's a far from spectacular relationship we have them, so I would hope our new owner and his party will be looking to make this more fruitful.

I did actually think the owner of Chang was going to buy us as he always promotes Everton and Chang as a partnership and is proper caked too.

But,but what am I going to drink on a match day when that fateful day arrives?:(:(:(:p:p:plol
Something better than Chang although personally I'm not too fond of it! I like how at other stadiums also offer a variety of choices.

Yes I think 50k sounds a realistic goal, so does it make sense spending hundreds of millions on a new stadium or try and raise the capacity at Goodison which you would think would be cheaper?
I personally would not want to leave as history and tradition means a lot to me.
If you read back a few pages you'll be able to read my more detailed opinion on reasons for a move, but I think we've got to look in the long term.

Redevelopment of the stadium to a high standard will not be easy, will cost a lot and may not offer the long-term flexibility that we'd desire.

It's not simply a case of what is cheaper, rather that a new stadium for a similar or even a higher cost will offer more security in the future.

Arguably a new stadium will have a longer life, allow more flexibility with transport etc. and can be tailored to our own specific needs.

Modernising Goodison would not be simple, it would be a time consuming process and would cost a fair bit if it were to be to a high standard.

As I've said all along it will be a hard day for me to leave Goodison, but unfortunately I see moving as a much more feasible and realistic option.

It isn't about seating. Get this into your head.

Simple fact of the matter is that Goodison isn't enough. It cannot be redeveloped to a sufficient extent.

It's not just seating. It's corporate boxes. Stadium facilities. Commercial aspects outside of the stadium.

There's no place like Goodison but financially it makes absolutely no sense not to build a new stadium, and football is a business above all else.

History and tradition mean jack in the face of improvement. Did you stick with your 1988 Peugeot 505? No, you didn't, because although you might have fond memories of picking up that lass and getting her pants off in the back seat, it was old, rusting, costing a fortune to repair and the newer model was so much better.

Ideally redevelop Goodison but I think the new stadium route will be taken.
In which case something like what Juventus have would be great.
We can even call it The Mosh Pit after our new majority shareholder!

Cost of building the Juve stadium approx 125m euros
Capacity approx 41,000

We could build a similar model with another 10,000 capacity on and leave scope for expansion if needed.

Just a note for all those who keep on wishing/hoping for a new stadium on Stanley park - you have to realise that the only section of that park that would be allowed a new stadium is the non-descript eastern (car park) end where the RS were going to build on, that would mean any new stadium built there would (literally) be inches away from their Anfield Rd End - NOT going to be allowed by planners/council. The other end by our ground is the historic 'Victorian' end with the lakes and all the national heritage protections and has all just been redeveloped - also NOT going to be allowed by planners/council.

Best course is do up Goodison bit by bit or if have to have a new build then it must be at waterfront or WHP.

Nice info, sounds logical.

Great stadium, but far too big for us. I think it holds 80,000

Westfalenstadion looks fantastically intimidating, yes 80,000 is too big for us but we could restructure the pricing too attract more punters, e.g. free for kids etc., the clubs are less reliant on the gate money due to the massive TV revenues, A world class stadium would also attract more neutrals with increasing numbers of visitors to the city 60,000 with restructured pricing would not be unrealistic.
As for an area to build surely any other city would be falling over itself to assist in something which is going to regenerate an area.

Now that we are loaded and if Goodison is land locked, why not lob 4 oil rig type things there and stick the stadium on top. Problem solved as no houses will be damaged, though they will never see daylight again.

Got to be some available land in the city centre somewhere if we can't develop Goodison.

Let's be honest here, what max capacity could we fill week in, week out?
I'm not convinced it would be much more than we have currently, so let's give Goodison a like of paint and use the funds on the playing squad.
I wouldn't under estimate our potential. Given the right facilities, affordable pricing and a successful team on the pitch I think 50k is realistic. You've also got to factor in away fans, a great stadium will encourage away supporters to come.

Just through building a new stadium - with no obstructed views, more leg room, bigger concourse with improved access to refreshments and toilets - I think we could up our average to mid 40s. It's only an extra 6-7K. We do really well to average over 38K considering the lack of comfort and user experience that Goodison provides in many areas of the ground.

If we were to have a sustained run of success on the pitch then high 40s would seem feasible to me.

There's a good chance we could sell out 50K for those really big matches.
