New Healthy Start

Thats kinda what I'm doing now haha walking more and going to make the slimming world meals.
So sounds like it will work then!
I've been living healthy since New Year, and seven months on, I'm still at it. Nothing major, just cut out sugar and bread, eating plenty of fruit and veg, and drinking loads of water. Cutting out weeknight boozing has been the real game changer though.

Can't agree more. I've lost count of the people who have asked me in work how much I have lost and what I have been doing.

The genuine answer is I have no idea, I'm 6'3 and well built anyway, but been slimming since about Xmas and have no idea how much I've lost. Don't get hung up on numbers, focus on clobber fitting you.
Same here - I know what I weigh now, but not when I began making changes!

Had 6 months of dieting / hard training, was never fat but just wanted to tone up. Looked great but I couldn't carry on, in the long run I think it would do more harm than good.

Now been a little less strict, added more fruit to my routine. Already had fruit and veg but it was measured. Because of the added sugar I'm a little less solid but I feel much better for it.

Pretty much what I am starting to do. Even things like bread I'm going to be lenient on as I don't eat loads of it as it stands but yeah just cut bad stuff and be more active.

How's it going Chubbs?

Apparently dropped a few pounds according to some. The trip to Chester zoo lasted 13 hours from leaving to getting home so considering I had about 2 little crisps and butty and a half in the whole day I'd imagine that helped proceedings.

Healthy eating starts Monday so see how I get on from there. Complete healthy eating not just cutting back.

So today is day one of healthy eating, or better eating to describe it more accurately.

So today was coffee, 3 fruit for breakfast (tangerine, apple, peach) Dinner will probably consist of a mug shot and a bottle of water, perhaps see if there is anything veggie about to eat (not got much money on me on purpose) and tea tonight will be healthy with another portion of veg on it. No sweets, no crisps, no bad things. Smaller portions on my plate, smaller lunches, small healthy breakfast. Should work a treat in dropping a bit of weight eh? the smaller the food/Calorie intake and the more active i can be to burn said calories off, the smoother the process.

What the frig is a mug shot?

Lost over half a stone just from cutting down on sugar and choosing low fat alternatives to previous foods I was eating.

I exercise quite a lot anyway but I always remained the same weight and body shape, would recommend to anyone wanting to lose weight to changing their diet first.

Add exercise into your routine to produce faster results and don't beat yourself up when you have a bad week, just get back into it the week after and you will soon get back on track.

My missus has done the same, she has started walking home from work a couple of times a week (4 miles) and she's shifted more than me.

Following on from my fruit for breakfast thread which was a huge hit, bit of a advice thread for me this one, any tips people know and advice for the average lazy person to get healthier without having to do much so to speak.

I'm eating slightly better now, and plan to start slimming world meals next monday. So will be eating meals designed to help you lose weight, healthier options etc. I'm not cutting out all bad things and just eating lettuce, i have 2 kids, it isn't realistic so just going out my way to eat fruit for breakfast (which i'm on my third week of btw) and eating better elsewhere just to cut out as many bad things rather than all bad things.

Exercise i used to get none whatsoever. Now i am walking a fair bit more. Walked round kenny and edge hill last week, walked from old swan home last night and walked for about 20 minutes or so this morning before i got on the bus. Raised my heart rate / broke a sweat doing it. So yeah, i'm trying to be a bit more active. I'm not going the gym, and i won't start going for a run but this is me going out my way to do something extra. Combining it with pokemon go as well, so walking is hatching the eggs over the distance, so a kind of distance measurer so to speak. I have been walking round town on my dinner as well rather than doing nothing so distance covered is much bigger than i was a week or so ago

So yeah, any tips i should follow? I'm not trying to be super healthy so if i want pasta or a packet of crisps then i'm not going to shirk in horror at them. Just avoid eating them when i can. going out my way for a bit more exercise as well. A few people have noticed i have lost weight just doing the fruit thing alone, although i wonder if they are hollow compliments to encourage me. Who knows? Either way, got my mind set on it at the minute so any little tips will be great.

oh and plan to start having @Bryan smoothie for breakfast as well.
Keep it up mate. sounds like a good plan because it's sustainable while the radical stuff is impossible to keep going. The important thing is you feeling better about yourself. Just doing something positive is a good step.
