Didn't really plan my meal out today lol

So its a mug shot and a tin of kippers. Thought get the goodness of the fish alongside a quick and low fat filler.

I know this is a bit of a stretch but as part of your healthy new start have you tried not vaping?

Whether i vape or not makes no odds.

To be honest vaping is soon to be one of the last bastions i have left. Don;t drink, don't go out drinking and stuff, not really eating things bad for me, kinda leaves only vaping as something half enjoyable away from the daily work/family race.

If there's one thing I've learnt from studying, it's that ingesting stuff smoke and vapour e.t.c is only likely to irritate the airways causing dysfunction and issues later on. Not saying not to, because that's your life choice, but wouldn't be surprised to see it have some respiratory effects long term similar to smoking.

Perhaps so. the long term picture doesn't have me vaping at that point anyway. It isn;t down to needing it, just down to eventually getting bored with it, when mixing is a chore or whatever else. That will be when i stop.

but one thing at a time lol lose the excess weight i have, get the home into an eating habit and yeah, see where i go from there. Day one seems to be good so far

Forming a habit is the most important thing. If you can get into the habit and maintain that routine over 2/3 weeks straight, that's when it'll become easier.

A slight word of caution regarding the mugshots, and indeed any other 'low calorie' food. They often have a lot of sugar to compensate for relatively low fat levels, which if you don't burn it off then it turns into fat anyway. The tomato and herb mugshot, for instance, has approximately 1/3 of your daily recommended sugar levels. Just something to be wary of.

Cheers mate.

I'll avoid them in future then,

Perhaps an alternative is to make big batches of pasta so you can then heat them up in the microwave. For instance, I'll be making a risotto later and will probably make 6 portions, so we'll have 4 left to freeze and heat up later. Takes no more time really than making 1/2 portions, but saves heaps of time later on when you're pushed. That way you know what you're eating and can make sure it's healthy. Probably cheaper too if that's a consideration.

My thinking is actually a little simpler. Just go the fruit and veg stall in work and spend a few quid buying veg, lettuce and the like for the week and then just adding something to it. So bit of fish, bit of chicken etc just something to liven it up and as others have mentioned add stuff like protien and that to the diet.

Might get a bit boring after a while but initially it would be cheaper than subway salads at least and avoids bread and pasta as well.

I am. Read up on that, so i eat them at breakfast and avoid them again all day. the main thing is going to be getting in a habit where i can eat fruit for breakfast, salad vegetables for dinner and evening veg for tea. So hitting as much as i can without overloading elsewhere.

I mean my daily intake so far today is literally 3 fruit, tin of kippers and a mug shot. Next to no food intake compared to previously where i could have bacon butty, crisps and whatever on top of that.

Glass of smoothie for breakfast, bowl of soup and 2 pieces of fruit for lunch, some form of protein (chicken or fish usually) with plenty of veg but little or no carbs for dinner.

No bread, no red wine, no biscuits, no cheese. The odd beer and vodka and slimline tonic if I fancy a drink.

Chucked off 2 stone in 4 months, back to my fighting weight now and just maintaining.

Not stepped foot in a gym, but have made sure I kept active, walking, gardening etc etc.
