Is the screen that big though or is it a load of smaller monitors? The Bluehouse will probably be more attractive especially on price of drinks.

Everyones up for it in an away end, whereas it can be samey at home with a lower amount up for it. So you need to get the most out of the lower amount of fans to get the others going, and thats where things like ticket allocation, acoustics, positioning comes into it.

At some point we need to draw a line under the acoustics business, it's not changing. People love excuses, if they can blame it on the building being why it's poor they will take that. Don't let them off the hook, it's purely we are supposed to have 5k 'ultras' in that safe standing end and they are anything but.

Need to start putting yellow stickers in that lower South Stand and start warning people about being too quiet. That'll sort them out!

I would go further and just bus thousands of Dutch and German fans over for each game. Instant atmosphere starters, they'll sing all game, winning or losing.

Noticeable from the southstand when Sunderland were singing at the weekend that their noise echoed off the west stand. Never heard that at Goodison and it only amplifies any noise made - great design

Yeah there was a point in the first half where it seemed like most of the away end were chanting, and where we were in SE Upper it sounded like the sound was rebounding off the West stand and was very loud.

Just shows it can deffo be loud and the design of the stadium isn't the issue, it's the fans or more so the dross on the pitch.

Great moments will come and they do help people lose their inhibitions.

Organically growing is linked to ticket allocation. Like minded fans need to find each other. Would be good to have some unreserved seating games at some point to help with that.

I know the acoustics cant be changed and Im not asking them to be. Im questioning the positioning of the safe standing in relation to the acoustics.

Re the Ultras, youre more right than you realise, and youve nailed the problem. I think it was designed with ultras in mind. Quite a lot of foreign clubs have the same design, standing and the ulras at the front and sitting at the back and it works for them. When you have a megaphone, drums you dont need to be positioned close to the roof or ar the back, its loud enough. As you say, we dont have that, so that format doesnt work for us

And thank God we don't. Never understood the obsession of some UK fans with topless fat capos standing on the front wall with a megaphone and a few henchmen with drums. That's not atmosphere and the chants generally have nothing to do with the game. Plus they have 'influence' over tickets in their section in some countries.

Thing is though its designed with Ultras in mind but we dont have them and theres little interest in them. Im not against them but its not my first choice
