New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Our home form continues to be utterly dire
We were told. We were told that when a team moves stadium that their home form suffers, sometimes a great deal. We were pretty awful at the old place too in the last couple of seasons. I’m really unsure what we expect, or believe we are entitled to sometimes. We are a very short squad, which in the last few years has had 50p spent on it, and this summer had a very middling amount spent on players, plus a stadium move. We are about where we should be all things considered

I think we should be considerably better than we are given our summer spending. Over 80m wasted on Dibling Barry and Rohl who are all out of their depth.

I expect not to see 3 back to back diabolical home performances against average teams. I won't accept everton being content with being this bad. The lack of urgency and ambition around the club just makes me sad at this point.

Just isn't a home ground.

It's what the people who run it want it to be: a nice looking facility to suck the entertainment pound in.

As known for rugby right now as it is football.

Not a fortress and never will be until the vampire's have their grip loosnened on it.

Something DRASTIC has to happen before this venue becomes remotely enjoyable from a tribal point of view.

It seems to suit the opposition better than us, we have been dross there all season.

We are absolutely terrible at Goodison last year as well, but a stadium with stands a bit further away from the pitch is definitely an advantage to the opposition. In all honesty though, the main problem isn't the stadium, it's the players not being good enough.

The stadium isn't the issue....

When the crowds going its loud and comparable to goodison....

The combination of a reactive crowd and struggling players means that for periods of games when we're not doing well the atmosphere os inevitably flat..

Get the players and the crowd in harmony and you'll see the difference
Having been to goodison for over 10 years, I can tell you categorically for 95% of games it was exactly the same there.

The stadium is great and is not the current problem.

Exactly. The performances are the real issue here, and watching Everton be crap three times in six days isn't exactly inspiring.

Oddly, too, I felt the atmosphere before the game felt better than either of the last three or four home games, yet that quickly disipated.

We're always going to have times when the crowd gets going but overall I don't think we'll get back to how it was. A new group of supporters have started going the game over the last 10 years and for whatever reason most of them just can't be bothered making noise.

Give me the days of when we were 36k no matter whether we were good, bad or anything in between over the constant sell outs we have now.
